Celebrity Touch has one of the catchiest riffs I've ever heard.

I like Anno Domini a fair bit, but I haven't heard the others yet. Looking forward to the new one either way.  :metal
Orion....that's the one with a bunch of power chords and boringly harsh vocals, isn't it?

I just got Second Life Syndrome and am blown away at first listen, which hardly ever happens for me with new bands. I've been told by many people that I'd enjoy them but only just now getting round to it... Artificial Smile is awesome. And how much does the intro to Second Life Syndrome sound like the intro to Hollow Years on Live at Budokan!?

You should check out Out Of Myself next. It's their previous album, and it showcases their softer and early-porcupinetreeish side a bit better than SLS, which by the way I'm about to listen in its entirety. :)

Came back for this. Wasn't disappointed. The vid looks great, they look great, and the song is catchier than I remember. Love that dirty keyboard run after the first chorus.

Yes! I wasn't impressed on first listen, but now, and maybe the video (very strong) has something to do with it, it all definitely makes more sense. I like the second half better than the first, though :)

I actually wasn't a fan of the first half of the song on the first listen, but the second half is incredible.  So much Tool influence.

I listened to CT two more times and hell, if it's getting better!  :D

Anyway, it's time for a brief recollection in numbers of my short experience with Riverside (I rediscovered them slighly more than one month ago):

1. Second Life Syndrome (100/100)
2. Out Of Myself (100/100)
3. Anno Domini High Definition (95/100)
4. Rapid Eye Movement (70/100) (listen only once, and I was not completely sold on it)

1st and 2nd switch places. Oh and REM is a 80/100 to me.

They are tied for the first place, so there was really no point for me to use 1. and 2. as I did...

Tell me, what makes you rank OOM higher (how much? Give me some raugh numbers!) than SLS? I'm interested to know :)

OOM is the album that makes me feel better when I have a bad day. Turn it on and all your pain is gone. Especially with Loose Heart.

Well, that's not a negative thing by any mean! If Celebrity Touch will be revealed to be the worst song on the record, then I will be a very happy panda  ;D

I would be too because I don't like it, except for the second half or so.

Sample disc in PROG magazine a few years back. I think it was the song of the same name. That's how I got into a bunch of these lesser known bands, but after a while I realized that the magazine was introducing me to a bit too much new music and I stopped listening to the samplers altogether.  :lol

Check out Riverside, it's heavier than LS, but more complex and poignant as well. You are likely to like  :tup
