I'm seeing Dredg on July 29th, and they're listed as one of the bands to play with them. So I guess I'll be seeing them shortly.

I fucking hate you so much, they're not opening for dredg at the show I'm going to on the 2nd.

Listen to Fables From a Mayfly Ravenheart.  I've listened to it three times in the past day and its still fantastic.

In other news, my local record store didn't get their shipment of FtM from Koch so I have to wait till tomorrow to get it. :(

They're so heavy they crushed the Wife, the kids, and the white picket fence while they were playing musical chairs telling tall tales that taste of sour grapes.

It's just the early european pressings - in digipak instead of jewel case, with the bonus song.

Got it today and listened to it on the way home.  Its so so good.  Really different from Fables, and it might be as strong as it to.  It'll need some more listens though.

I really enjoyed it!

Check out their previous album.  Garroh shows off more of his "OMGHIGH" range on it and the music is, as a whole, less heavy.  I think I actually find it catchier than A&A.

Me too. After two listens I don't think A&A matches up to the mastery of Fables, but then Fables is one of my all-time favourites, so I never expected it to match up.

It's still a brilliant album though!

I prefer the variety of A&A, there's just so much diversity on the record. It and Fables are neck and neck for me.

I really enjoyed it!

I recommend "Orphan Anthem '86" or "A Wolf Descends Upon the Spanish Sahara".  Two of my favoritests.

Did anyone else think of Coheed and Cambria's possible influence on "Uh Oh" and those quoted lyrics to "the Greener Grass" :P

I only have Fables from a Mayfly but I like it a lot.  I'll pick up the new album tomorrow.

This song just ended.  Might be my favorite section of the album.  Either that or TGG.

Okay, I saw a commercial for this band's new album and I thought it sounded like generic buttrock.

But I just looked them up on wikipedia and one of the genres listed for them is progressive metal.

Could somebody please accurately describe this band?

I like most of the music that is lauded on this forum, so maybe my judgement was too hasty.

Hahaha, Fair to Midland is nothing close to generic or buttrock. It's a really odd type of music, actually, somewhere between progressive and alternative rock, with some metal elements thrown in a good bit. They write some crazy stuff with fantastic melodies and really odd yet poetic lyrics, and they're definitely one of the more innovative bands of their "genre," I guess.

Listen to some of their songs, I guarantee you won't be disappointed.

Is that what he's saying in track 13? :lol

If so, it's probably the greatest lyric ever written.
