Yeah, I may have to drive down!

Got my tix for the Charleston show on 9/9! Gonna be awesome!

Misirlou

Which Parasomnia song are you most excited to hear them play? (other than Night Terror and Midnight Messiah, already debuted live?). Bend the Clock might be the new Spirit Carries On in concert.

And Shadow Man is gonna be fun. James is gonna take a helluva break though.

jimgolf

I don't think I can ever remember a tour not having a Philly show. I mean the place was sold out last tour. That's very disappointing if that's the case.

geeeemo

sheesh!  It's always such a stress game when buying concert tickets. I check my phone about 7:45 before I leave for work. I have until 9am to figure out where will I go, can my friends go. We have to travel, so there is some planning. And then be ready to get in the "waiting room". The Oceanside presale tickets were Way overpriced. Like 300 each more than what I paid for the Tulsa show. I am waiting to get the Oceanside and see if there are better options.

On the last tour, I though they over-saturated the area from Northern CA to Colo. Sacramento, Reno, Salt Lake and Denver. The 2 I went to were not full at all. Now they skipped all those. I understand, and think its great they are hitting the other markets. But they have to drive through Reno anyway...

Very excited to see all of Parasomnia. I really like all of the songs. I am curious to see what they play on the 2nd set. I am sure different from the 40th anniversary. How fortunate to see So Much DT in one year, with such a Variety of music!!  :metal

BFRedrocks

FINALLY I can attend a DT show again!  I've had to miss the last three tours due to various trips and appointments, so thankfully I can attend this one.  Just got second row for Phoenix (Mesa), so REALLY looking forward to this.  :metal  :metal  :metal

Quote from: Buckeye69 on May 20, 2025, 09:08:28 AMMust not be for all shows today.  I tried for a show and got an error.  That happened on a couple different devices

Turns out there was an issue with the DT presale and you had to call to order.  I did that and got front row!  :metal  :yarr

Progmaniac1988

Just got a ticket for Nassau veterans, 7th row center. Could not pass that up! I cannot believe they are playing such a huge venu in NY. I REALLY hope they sell most these tickets!

No NYC either, also sold out last tour.  Was at both and a bit shocked, for the first time ever, they aren't coming within a 90 minute drive of me.  Granted, Nassau kind of is within that, the reality is it'll take much longer to get there than Philly.

gmillerdrake

Just got mine for St. Louis....tix selling fast at that Venue. Given the cost and amount of people I'm paying for had to go with Balcony seats...although, this venue the Balcony seats are pretty killer.

Quote from: Samsara on May 20, 2025, 09:38:55 AMYeah, the only Northern California appearance is Aftershock, which is absolutely stupid. Yeah, we got the DT40 show, which was cool, but I want to see the Parasomnia tour, and to have no non-festival dates within Northern California or even Northern Nevada is silly. Hoping a second leg will happen.
I'm gonna bite the bullet and drive the 4 hours to Tulsa. At least it's on a Saturday.
Tower of ivory, house of gold? How could a woman be a tower of ivory or a house of gold?

brakkum

Doing Minneapolis, and ended up nabbing a Nassau ticket, because f**k it

Quote from: Kocak on May 20, 2025, 09:17:41 AMIt's like they did it in MS Paint, look at the cuts around the band members.
Man, they desperately need some online presence help.

I don't disagree that the poster is a little rough looking.  :lol But at this stage in their career, do you honestly think it would make much of a difference if they had more help with their online presence? Assuming that this help wouldn't be free, how much would they actually stand to gain from it?

Quote from: DTiwbwMP on May 20, 2025, 09:44:53 AMFly up to your old stomping grounds Bri. I'd love to meet you buddy.

I'd love to meet and hang with you too, Mike. I thought about it for a few minutes, but this year is pretty challenging. We took two weeks to head back East last summer and visit home on Long Island and the city of course. It was a blast showing my daughter where I grew up and why being a Long Islander is a bit different than just a "New Yorker." She appreciated the uniqueness.  :heart Doing it again, solo, for a few days sounds fun, but there are some other things this year we have to prioritize, funding-wise. (College trips, etc.) Just bad timing, sadly.

Architeuthis

No dates in the Pacific Northwest. I remember JLB saying they'd be back in Seattle for the fall Parasomnia tour. I wonder if there will be a second leg in early 2026?
Anyway, at least now I will get Symphony X tickets and I bet they are less than half the price.

faizoff

Didn't realize I could purchase tickets today. Bought front row tickets!
Devour Feculence!

While I do understand why you think this, I vehemently disagree with "at this stage of their career" statements. They are Dream Theater. They are one of the most influential progressive metal bands ever to grace this planet of ours. It does not cost much to have a tidy, visually-appealing online branding. Hell, AI generators can do better than this. I have seen bedroom projects that have better visual identities. Even "at this stage of their career", they should give a crap. This is mediocre work. They deserve better, the fans deserve better. When I say they need help, I don't necessarily mean expensive, super corporate level help. A freelancer on Fiverr could do better than this.

STUM

I am pretty sure they referred to the Parasomnia tour as 2025-2026. My guess is this is it for 2025 and another leg in 2026. Canada is missing from this tour and Montreal, Quebec City and Toronto are 3 of the cities they never miss.
See you in 2026!

Like I said, I don't disagree. But there's obviously something about this style that they think is good enough (like, if you squint a little and are being very generous, the poster has a similar feel to the back cover of Images and Words), and it's not going to sway me one way or the other. And maybe they feel that way too - it's not like a better looking poster is going to mean the difference between playing small theatres vs. selling out arenas.

It's all kind of fascinating, to be honest.  :lol

As a point of comparison, here's the tour poster of Steven Wilson, same age as MP, JP and JM.

Yes, it probably won't mean that they will player larger venues, but it's not that hard to do something better, or more expensive for that matter. I know that you do not disagree, it's just that the whole "That'll do." attitude gives me the shits. It's an easy way out to just say "Oh, they're riding into the sunset and they're happy." I just think they deserve better, and the fans do too.

Got my tickets for Milwaukee since there's no Chicago show this time. Can't wait!

I don't want to be seated for this show, man. I hope the crowd is lively.

Has there been a US show without seats recently? The last time I can think of was 2014 in NYC at Hammerstein Ballroom they had a GA floor from my experience.

dualpalmpilots

No, there hasn't. I think what I meant to say was, I want to stand without feeling like an ass.

You can fly to one of the European shows :) Some are standing, I believe.

I think because of the hype, the shows for the 40th anniversary, everyone was standing. It wasn't an issue as it may have been in the past. They hype still may be there for this tour, as it seems they are at many different venues. I, too prefer GA. But those tickets are much cheaper....

This is a dream of mine! One day, before they retire.

I'm just gonna take a chance on the second row, that's the best of what's left. It won't suck. I'll be seeing my favorite band of all time.

Yeah, I hear ya. I just get a seat in the back and stand so no ones behind me.  Worked in the last row at RCMH, I was one of only like 4 peole standing in the top balcony.  Philly I got away with it too because I bought a side seat with no one directly behind me.

I've stated many times, DT are a front row or last row band because of this. I see little joy in sitting the in the middle for a metal concert.

For RCMH, I sat the entire second half because someone behind me had "Back issues" and couldn't stand, so me trying not to be an ass I was sitting. They asked nicely, but it sucked the entire energy of the show for me :lol

That's my issue, I like being close to the stage, but if it's a seated venue I never know If I'll be standing or sitting since it all depends on what the people behind me (or in front) are doing.

False.

What people don't know is that he's going to dress up as the Shadow Man and creep around the stage.

Progmaniac1988

I'm thinking there is no NJ show and no CT show on the hopes of those crowds all hitting the Long Island show at Nassau coliseum. That's a lot of seats to fill! I'm guessing there will be further announcements that will make people go to that gig too. (Recording the show, special songs played exc)

They would not book a show THAT big in the east coast without thinking they could sell it!

TheHoveringSojourn808

We're so back! Can't wait to snatch it up with the boys in Dream Theater again. Twice in one year! Un-fucking-believable!

at least there can be some discussion about new songs being played. I also like that they started rehearsals 2 weeks in advance. Hopefully the vocalmelodies are sorted this time around before playing live..

I'd rather take the chance on sitting down a great seat and get the energy from being near the action.
