There ya go, Stads!

Still holding out hope for something for Sdoit

Same, honestly I'd trade some of SFAM tracks for SDOIT material, even though I love that album. It's just been way overrepresented in recent sets (which I get, considering it's neck-and-neck w I&W as their most popular release). Especially TSCO.

I know the chances of this are unlikely, but if they swapped PMU in the encore for Learning To Live...  :hefdaddy  :hefdaddy  :hefdaddy

I think most people would be fine with PMU being swapped out. Home needs to stay, though.

Shadow2222

Change out the whole encore for The Glass Prison - would be incredible.

As far as the current set, so glad they are keeping Stream. Really wanted to see that

Same, I was hoping SOC wasn't going to get the boot

Vacant must've been the song that MP referred to as having not been performed in 20 years.

I thought "but I saw them playing Vacant last December"... how time flies.

And Octavarium.  Add UAGM and I'm pretty stoked for March.

Dammit, I haven't looked forward to a concert like this in a LONG time.

Kinda surprised they decided to do a second Parasomnia song during the 40th anniversary tour when they intend to play the whole album in full later this year. Would've preferred another older DT song to see a different album represented. But if it technically replaced As I Am, ToT is still obviously fully represented so I guess that's an even swap.

Curious about ARoP showing up in the leak then. Maybe they'll alternate Midnight and ARoP? Because if so, I take it back keep Midnight on the set please :)

It's an excellent setlist for sure, and 8V is my most anticipated song to see. IMO, they replaced the two worst songs of the set and I'm glad there's two new Parasomnia songs instead just the one.

It still has that overarching "Anniversary" tour stink to me, but I'm going anyway. ;D

Maybe swapping that and TDEN..

Man what a setlist this tour has been. I'm not that big of a fan of TDEN, I'd rather have Constant Motion. But the rest has been killer.

brakkum

These are the kinds of changes I wanted with the set having seen the London show, glad I'm seeing two shows on this leg!

Shadow2222

With A Rite of Passage and "Into the Lite/Life" (which could be Fall into the Light or This is the Life) on that screenshot in the tour video, I'm wondering if they may do a very minimal rotation. I'll be curious to see if the next setlist stays the same.

Cool Chris

Maybe the grass is greener on the other side because you're not over there fucking it up.

Deadeye21

So much for "haven't played in 20 years" then? And no Passage either

I'm certainly not complaining about the last part...  ;D

faizoff

I'm quite sure MP said they'll rotate the new songs here and there. So they rehearsed the song they hadn't played in 20 years but doesn't mean it would be played every night.

Tour video? What did I miss?

Skeever

This was only my sixth time seeing the band, at least with my own eyes, but it was the best. Best setlist, best on stage energy, best crowd reaction, and best James. I feel the way about the band that I felt when I was a teenager!

There was a social media video put out earlier this week with clips from rehearsals. Some did a freeze frame and saw notes the Lighting director made that had stuff for TDEN and A Rite of Passage on there.

What a show! The light/video show was one of the best I've ever seen. Band was on fire. Sound was fantastic. The Met was sold out. Philly went apeshit for DT
Unbelievable....

Quote from: EvantheMotel6Owmer on February 07, 2025, 05:59:28 PMSeeing lots of people on Reddit saying this is the best they've heard James in a while.

It absolutely was. He was night and day better than the Dream Sonic show I saw in Philly.

Not only that, the vibe in Philly was just off the charts. When you compare what the show felt like tonight vs the Dream Sonic show, it was unreal. The crowd was into it and the band was having a blast.

It's been a while (2009) since I saw MP live with the band(the other time in 2007), but I almost forgot just how awesome the band is live with him. I've always been a big Mangini fan, but DT together live with Portnoy is something special.

Oh, and Dark Eternal Night was a blast live. Me and the couple guys in my section were totally psyched when that riff kicked it. Also, the lasers were kickass.

BEST DT show I've seen in MANY YEARS! Simply INCREDIBLE! :yarr  :metal  :hefdaddy

Delighted you're all having the same reaction as most of us did in Europe and South America!

Not to keep reiterating the show tonight was great - it was  :hat - but the show was off the charts good. It was a fantastic crowd(sold out) and the band was energetic and in a great mood. There was just so many good vibes going on, I had a smile the whole time.

Also, I need to point out the light show. They have really outdone themselves with the light show. The addition of the lasers was incredible. It especially shined during Stream of Consciousness - my god was that beautiful. During the long/epic song at the end(I forget if set list spoilers are allowed) I was just fully taking in the moment and felt like I was on a musical journey.

I would say tonight was easily one of the best DT concerts I've ever been to, and one of the most enjoyable shows I've seen in a while.

That's lovely to read.

Some of the lasers looked like they might have been dropped in South America. Were they shooting at the backdrop last night as the intro to Metropolis rang out?

I think so. When the intro tape was playing either the lasers or various lights were shining across the backdrop (and it looked really cool).
