Looks like his time would be better spent in Reno.  Yikes!  There are literal front row center seats for only $150 that aren't sold.  The entire third row in the center orchestra section is unsold, and the mezzanine/balcony section looks about 95% unsold.  By contrast, the Northfield, Ohio show a week later looks to be about 90-95% sold out.
Feelin' kinda spooky.

Yeah that shocked me, out of curiosity I was checking out prices on other shows, and saw Reno was barely sold at all. Very weird.. the other gigs seem to be selling very well at much higher prices lol

ReaperKK

I just checked Raleigh and there were hardly any tickets left.

Interesting, I just checked and that one is selling better than philly, though I'm guessing a lot of people will wait until closer to the show.

I also clicked on the Biloxi show and I'm surprised it has standing room

Progmaniac1988

Yeah, seems most shows are 60-70% sold already, some have barely anything available. Maybe there's a more preferred gig near that Reno show?

Well, the thing is, Reno isn't very big at all, and Reno shows in the past for DT draw well because of people from the Sacramento Area, Central Valley, and even some from the Bay Area driving out there.  This time around, they are playing the Bay Area AND Sacramento in addition to Reno.  The venue they are playing is great, but it isn't going to draw people from the areas it usually draws from if there are already shows in those areas.

Seems like a pretty obvious oversight in that case

Yeah...I thought it might have something to do with the show being on a school night, which is why I checked the Northfield, OH show, which on the following Sunday.  I checked several other weeknight shows, and they were all selling pretty well (the Utah show being the next worst seller of the shows I checked).  The effect of the Sacto and San Jose shows makes sense, though, and it kinda reflects negatively on whomever planned the tour.
Feelin' kinda spooky.

Quote from: El Barto on September 20, 2024, 12:16:32 PMLooking over a list I put together, the one song I'd love to see that's eluded me is Trial of Tears. I've seen all of my other favourites, so that would top the list. There are plenty of songs I'd love to see again, though.

I attended the first show of the tour the other night. They played Trial of Tears, you'll be delighted to know. I left after that. Figured I could watch the rest of the gig through people's videos on YouTube.

Funny how MP's first show back was in a shed, though.

Yeah. Looking back I saw part of it in Schmedley Wilcox, but they weren't really be very atmospheric with that. :lol

I'd really like to see it more akin to the Budokan gig.

I was buying tickets during the presale for Reno. Got in right away at 10 and the 1st 3 rows were unavailable, not even platinum tickets were available, which you can almost always get. I got some good seats, but checked back each day for about a week as it seemed like someone (something) scooped them ahead of time and I thought it may open up. Then I forgot about it and I got a message from a DT buddy who travels to Reno and he said the front rows had opened and great pricing! Seems like it didn't go well for some entity to try to make too much money.
They are also playing in Salt Lake which they haven't done very often. And Las Vegas that I have noticed. I am glad for the variety as I will be going to more than one show, but I do hope more tickets sell.

He hasn't had one since World Tourbulence!   :lol
Quote from: BlobVanDam on November 13, 2015, 07:37:14 PMAs a basic rule, if you hate it, you must solely blame Portnoy. If it's good, then you must downplay MP's contribution to the band as not being important anyway, or claim he's just lying. It's the DTF way.

I vote for "The Big 4 0"

lucasembarbosa

Maybe it's a red/black/golden kit, like Neil Peart's R40/Clockwork Angels kit and he didn't have a red kit since Red Monster in FII/SFAM touring period 👀

Progmaniac1988

I think Red or gold would both be a nice fresh look! Even when he was out of DT I don't recall him playing on a red or gold kit. If he did it definitely wasn't often. Ah I've missed being excited for MP's monster kits! 😀

I'm glad I got my RCMH tickets, the show seems to be selling well so far. Floor seats are pretty much sold out  :metal

Amen brother! I almost held off because I'm already going to the CT show with my wife, but decided I'd grab a ticket for myself for RCMH because I feel I'd regret it if I missed it. Glad I did! Because I got a pretty close seat in orchestra and a few friends of mine are now regretting waiting because they will have to buy resale or balcony. I'm going to this one alone, and I'm totally cool with that 😂

Boston:

Washington:

Rochester not so much:

Feelin' kinda spooky.

I booked my flights last night for the RCMH show!  Flying into LaGuardia on Thursday and flying home from JFK on Tuesday.  Not sure where I'm going to stay - probably in Brooklyn.  Probably will check out the Islanders v. Blue Jackets game on Monday or maybey go to Newark on Monday for the Devils v. Canucks.  Can't wait!

Hey, I think for the amount of time the tickets have been on sale this is the best that one of their tours have been selling in a long while in the USA at least.  Only a couple weeks and some big venue are already close to sold out. I think the other venues will sell as we get closer and maybe a new single will help with that too.

Sounds like it'll be a great trip! I already regret not getting tickets to RCMH.

Having just come back from quite a hiatus, it just hit me that I joined up at the forums to find out info about the 20th RCMH show.

Now I'm looking forward to the 40th and hoping to connect with some of you!

ReaperKK

The RCMH show is a weird aging milestone for me. There are only a few things that ever make me stop and appreciate how much time has passed but the RCMH show coming has. I can't believe 20 years ago I was freshly out of high school doing my first solo trip to another city to see a band,  now that band is doing a 40th anniversary tour.

My high school buddies and I took the train in from CT for the show. We felt so adult, taking public transport in and navigating the city by ourselves. Coming from the boonies and in an era before the smart phone, it was a bit of a deal for us.

Surprised at how well the Dallas show sold, especially with the ticket prices. But good for them, man. I've never met the band and went to try and get VIP, but that's sold out already for the meet and greet. Crazy!

Score happened shortly before I became a fan and joining the forums, or the old form back then.

It's wild to think about those last 20 years and how music has changed my life in so many ways.  Including discovering DT and being a member of this forum approaching that 20 years.  I was still in college and so much has changed.

Cool Chris

I believe I joined around that time as well. At least it was the first big conversation topic I can remember.
Maybe the grass is greener on the other side because you're not over there fucking it up.

i think i found this forum after MP.com, and became only more active here when mp.com closed. Used to have a different nickname as well but couldn't find  the password so here we are..  :sadpanda:
