Sorry to hear that Joe. Hopefully it passes.

Take note if these feelings stick around mate.  Not worth feeling like that long term.  Hopefully it passes though.

Anything in particular that's causing the additional stress?

Well, happy anniversary, I guess.  And I hope things get better for you, pal.

Sounds like you are hitting some burn out.  Hang in there.  ProgPower isn't too far away to take your minds off things if only for a bit.

King Postwhore

It looks like Facebook instant message isn't working this morning. Probably from that whole internet computer thing shutting down that caused the issue.

We are basically dead in the water at work.  Which is great, since it's my last day before vacation, so I was hoping to be extremely productive today, which apparently isn't going to happen.

I must say how I do love how this has not impacted me one bit, because otherwise, it sounds like a nightmare

faizoff

Yeah thank god we didn't have anything related to crowdstrike in our systems. I really feel bad for those who have to deal with this. Sounds like a massive nightmare.

Lonk

I thought I wasn't affected, until I went to print a permit from a government site and their site is down  :lol I need the permit before the end of the day so  :tdwn

Cool Chris

Doing something I haven't done in years, eating out by myself. The girls are gone for the week and I had a craving for wings. I normally don't do this, heck I prefer to leave the house as infrequently as possible. But it's Friday, I didn't know what to make for dinner, and I have nothing better to do.

Same, it was a smooth day at work surprisingly

axeman90210

Yeah, I saw the news on my way out the door this morning and was expecting it to fuck up me taking a half day today. I was pleasantly surprised there was no real impact for us at all.

MirrorMask

And I thought I was unlucky 'cause when I took the train for the first time in six months, there was a national strike.

I can only imagine how's feeling someone who waited an holiday for the better part of a year and on the day of departure, a random guy launching an update on a friday blue-screen-kills most of the planet.

axeman90210

Yeah, I think I saw at least one person in the BBT forum worrying that they wouldn't be able to make it to Germany for Night of the Prog this weekend.

cramx3

Yeah, there's a shit ton of people who had vacation plans completely fucked up by this.  Really sucks and I'm fortunate to not be one of them.

Jamesman42

Didn't hit me and I vegged online for a good portion of it.

Is Portnoy still sober? I watched a video of him on YT earlier today and from how he ordered it, it sounded like he's no longer off the drink?

ReaperKK

What YT video? I would honestly be shocked if he lapsed in his sobriety. MP has always seemed dedicated to being sober and took it very seriously.

And if he was, I think it would have become some sort of news inevitably.

Stadler

There was one video (was it the Nick D'Virgilio podcast?) that I sort of thought "wait... is he..." but I think in hindsight, he was just phrasing things as if for him being sober was a fait accompli, like being left handed, and not something to talk about like a transient thing.

Part of me is, "that's between him, his family and his "god", but part of me has an interest in him being in as good a place as he can be, and for that, I'd be interested if some of our sober friends had an opinion on this.

That's one I saw that made me do a double take.

The problem is that he's already been so public about sobriety that it's hard to now say, "it's in house".  I'd imagine the fellow sober folks on this forum might find it odd to go from public to quit about it.  My understanding was a big part of the 12 steps was being public about it. But yeah, like you say, it may be better from the sober folks to comment than me.

Also, I have no idea what video this is in reference to or if there's actually any reason to think he's no longer sober.

Stadler

Marc, there's a podcast interview between Nick D'Virgilio and Mike, and Nick asked a bunch of cool questions about non-drumming things, and one of them was about sobriety and partying and stuff (he asked some good questions about relationships and the burden that being a musician places on them) and that's where I thought Mike's answer was... something to potentially ask about.

ReaperKK

Just queued up the podcast episode to listen to later today

So, apparently a tornado just touched down in my town, only about 2-3 miles from where I live.  Wal-Mart and Rona (our version of Lowes) lost parts of their roofs.  30 foot camper blew over in the Wal-Mart parking lot.

Good times!

Damn, and I'm sure that's not normal for Canada?  I feel like tornados have been moving north lately

No, just a random freak thing. You hear about some a few times a summer in Ontario.  It was just a small one. We're out for a drive, and the damage is only in one small part of town.

I was born and raised in CT and we NEVER EVER heard of tornados.  I know they landed, but they weren't an occurrence. My last year in Enfield, about three years ago, there were something like five of them in the span of a couple months. We had storms late last week and over the weekend and I just drove through a portion of a town called Suffield, and I am convinced we're going to hear that a twister touched down in one part; it was about a quarter mile strip and there were trees broken and even in a couple places ripped out of the ground, roots and all (and I'm talking decent size trees, between 6" and 12" in trunk diameter).

hefdaddy42

Sounds like a typical summer/fall day down here in North Carolina lol

Glad you had no ill effects!

Meanwhile in Florida/Georgia...  :lol

Weather has definitely been wild lately and seemingly shifting.  The NJ ocean water even looks tropical at the beaches, which is a welcome change to the dark murky disgusting water I'm used to.

hefdaddy42

Heavy rain from Tropical Storm Debbie just began here in Raleigh.  Woo-hoo!
