Vacation mode: Activated.  3 weeks off, heading out to Buffalo tonight, to stay at an airport hotel, early flight to Ft. Lauderdale, then set sail for 13 days on Sunday, capped off with 3 days in Barcelona.

Not sure where to put this stupid story about me almost killing myself this morning, but here it is....

I woke up and got into the shower first thing, which is pretty common for me when I wake up.  I had just stepped into the shower and not yet put my head or body under the water.  As I step forward into the water, my tired and lazy mind decided to yawn the exact moment I stick my face under the shower head immediately filling my lungs with water.  It was perfect timing really.  I immediately was choking on it.  I couldn't speak and couldn't breathe for a bit. I finally calmed myself and was able to breathe through my nose a bit and cough out all the water.  Wheezed for another 5 minutes and then regained the ability to speak continued coughing for another 15 minutes.  So fucking stupid  I kept thinking to myself in the moment that I'd be some weird headline and stat "able adult male drowns while standing in the shower"

Nah laugh away, it's legit funny now that the moment has past.  Like how tf did that happen?  Even if I know the physical how, just like, how tired and lazy was I in that moment?  I guess I was still fairly asleep.  I'll be laughing about that moment until I can't remember things anymore.

Wonder if he was drunk or drugged out or if it were just a tragic accident.  That's scary to think we can just fucking die taking a shower.

I wasn't friends with him, but a guy that was part of a golf club my friends were in came home from the bar, decided to take a shower, and slipped getting in.  He fell backward and hit the back of his neck on the corner of the vanity... wheel chair for the rest of his life.   At least that's the story I was told. 

Couple two years ago I went out my front door, thinking it was raining, but it had glazed over with ice.  My feet went out from under me, and I landed on my back.  I didn't consciously do it, but somehow my elbow was under me to cushion the blow.  We have a Ring doorbell and I was watching it on reply and the back lower part of my skull missed hitting the edge of the concrete step by centimeters.  I get chills just thinking about how random some things can be. 

(And not only that, can you believe that no one in my inconsiderate asshole family bothered to post that footage on the inter webs?!?  I could have been on Ridiculousness! Or America's Funniest Home Videos!!!!!!!!!!!  Haha!  )

Horchata, or orxata, is a name given to various beverages, which are generally plant based, but sometimes contain animal milk. In Spain, it is made with soaked, ground, and sweetened tiger nuts. In some parts of the Americas, the base is jicaro, melon or sesame seeds, or white rice, along with other spices.

I lost interest at "tiger nuts."
