Some classic metal today
The SkyEye album I believe I first saw here, recommended by Kade...really good stuff. Strong Maiden influence, including the vocals (far from a mere Dickinson clone, though!). Nice balance of more straightforward (Detonate is a banger!) and more adventurous songs. I think they have a new one coming out soon - I'll be keeping an, um, eye out for sure!
The Reverend Hound was just released, and I came across it kinda randomly. I ended up listening to the whole thing, as it's very enjoyable. Think NWOBHM filtered through German metal. That is - lots of Maiden, but Accept too. The songs are relatively straightforward, but the stuff works. A Cry for Light is a real nice closer. Inevitably, this is the kind of album that gets lost in the sea of new releases, but it's a fun ride.
