Mixed feelings. I like the new arrangements but man, Brandon's voice is in a rough state. They should've released an album version of anniversary show they filmed at the house they recorded the original album in and called it a day.

Maybe because I am listening on my phone, but the only thing sticking out is how different the production sounds. I don't know if that was intentional, but it's not good like the original.

Edit: My phone sucks. Listened to "Wish You Were Here" on youtube, this sounds just fine, but enough to say the original is still king.

I've spun the album a few times now and it feels like a lot looser of a record. There are some things I really like about it and something I don't. I'm a sucker for MV though, it's in the top 5 favorite of all time.

The new Hot Water Music album Vows is pretty damn good so far...

If you like your punk/alt rock with a bit of grit in the vocals you might enjoy this. I personally love this latest iteration of the band as Chris Creswell is now firmly cemented and shares vocal duties. As a huge Flatliners fan I love this, as Creswell is one of my favourite vocalists.

A couple of compilations. My birthday was last week - I remember getting the single CD version of Days of Purgatory as a birthday present in 1998, when I discovered Iced Earth. It was my first introduction to their pre-Dark Saga songs. I bought the 2-CD version from Century Media in early 1999, which was one of my first times every buying a cd online.

Powerwolf - that's a really good compilation of their hits and some re-recorded classics and a live show as a bonus.

Started with PetroDrangonic after wolfking got Dragon in his roulette and raved about it. Checked it out and was blown away. I also picked this one up after I found out it was also metal and am just listening now. I think I might like it a bit more that PetroDragonic.

I had checked minor stuff before and never cared for it. These 2 records are awesome. I did download Polygondwanaland direct from them as they offered it for free. Listened to the first few and was not all that interested. I still have it and will try again later.

Do like me and hit PetroDragonic Apocalypse and Infest The Rats' Nest. They are both full on Metal. The other stuff is all over the map, from my understanding. I think I read their last album is like almost all synth based. They are style chameleons.

Re-listening to PetroDragonic Apocalypse right now and I think it's safe to say that I like Rat's Nest a lot more. This is not a bad album, I still really like it, but Rats' Nest just hit different.

You want the full length, or abridged version? There is a whole Gizzverse to get into and you can go from 'Sci fi concept prog rock about a cyborg destroying the universe with his desire to vomit' to 'full synth pop which may or may not be a trans allegory'.

Glad you are digging it dude. I personally prefer PetroDragonic, as I find Infest a little too one dimensional. I'd personally suggest trying Nonagon Infinity next, followed by either I'm In Your Mind Fuzz or Omnium Gatherum!
