I subscribe to Decibel magazine and there was a small article about the band and their new album, which inspired me to listen to a few records. I remember being handed a cassette of The Key when I was in high school and dug it, even though I wasn't into death metal at all back then. Threshold's production wasn't very good when I listened last night, but I did play some of the Nocturnus AD record and enjoyed that one too.

Yes! Listening to it again right now, and you nailed it with the “live in the studio feel” part. The band sounds really tight, and the songs are really well structured and played. They don’t make them like this anymore. Just a great 80s rock album.

Yea, I only discovered them a couple of years ago. I'm a total sucker for synthy, sci fi death metal
