Just wanted to apologize for this thread. The image of James LaBrie spending his days in the studio eating David Brooks burgers was something that I thought was really amusing personally, and I thought it was funny, but I see now that it wasn't OK to be misleading about what he was doing. I should have either been clearer I was kidding, or not posted this thread to begin with.

I still think it's fun to be silly and occasionally outrageous but there is definitely a time and place for it and I perhaps took it too far in this (and other instances). Sorry about that. Hope you all had a good week!

just wanted to reply to this one. i know a lot of people don't believe me, but this isn't really up for debate: i only have one account. you can even check the IP addresses on the boards. I can assure you that I am not the great ape, or any other active account. i don't have either the patience or any reason to manage multiple accounts on here.

i did really like ape's posting style, and thought he was humorous. that's why i have the message in my sig. he was seemingly banned and while i didn't see what happened i wanted to keep their memory alive

You guys just aren't used to Gen Z trolling like that - this forum has a cohort of youngish Millennials still but not a lot of us were trolls - so you haven't read through it and trolled him right back, which made it ultimately much less entertaining. If I logged into the DT discord right now I'd probably find him celebrating that he was able to fly under the radar while getting so much engagement for so long Glad that's over!

And though I know it's tongue and cheek, I feel similarly. I was really into Godzilla as a kid, just thought it was cool. Then later in life I'd catch it and I'd take something different away from it. I can honestly say I think about Godzilla almost every single day, some facet of it. Not all day or anything, but maybe for like 5 minutes here and there. There's a lot that can be read in and the figure of Godzilla is like an enigma to me.

The smell of AI is strong in that one. And I recall at least one other occasion of HoveringSojourn's post that was clearly written by AI. Havig said that, he definitely writes most of his posts on his own (unlike Great Ape, who used AI both way more often and in a more obvious manner).

It is not against the rules, because AI wasn't around when the rules were written, and there has been no reason to update the rules that way because (until recently) it hasn't been a thing, really.

What I would say is that if people use AI to make posts on this discussion forum, then we aren't really getting THEM, and so I would frown upon it MOST HIGHLY and not take them seriously as a contributor here, and additionally think less of them as an individual.  That's just me.
