My very epic list:
1. Octavarium - I'm like, 90% confident this will be the encore on the next tour. It matches what they've been doing a lot on recent tours (ACOS as the encore in 2017, The Count of Tuscany as the encore in 2022), so I think it's just a natural progression. Plus, it's LONG overdue, it's pretty much the most requested live song, and it would be absolutely perfect with the 20th anniversary soon and the reunion of the classic lineup, as this song perfectly encapsulates that whole era of the band.
2. I expect WDADU to get some sort of representation. I'd go with the classic Ytse Jam.
3. In the Name of God - Long overdue.
4. S2N - I doubt it'll get played on the next tour, but I hope it does at some point. It definitely deserves it.
5. Surrender to Reason - Same as above.
6. Home - A good classic Dream Theater staple, almost feels like a given with Portnoy being back.
7. The Glass Prison - Long overdue, would be an awesome opener.
8. Surrounded - We need at least one ballad, this one seems to go over well when it's played.
9. Raise the Knife - A longshot, I know, but if this tour is going to coincide with their 40th anniversary, I think an archival piece would be great and, to be quite honest, I just love this song a ton.
10. Metropolis - Dream Theater classic.
Some other notes: I think In the Presence of Enemies (the full piece) will get played as an encore in the near distant future, but not on this tour. It and Octavarium are two of the epics that are still in need of representation as of recently. I expect this tour to be a consisting of mostly songs off the new album mixed with pre-2011 songs and I think there'll be a mix of classic staples (Home, Ytse Jam, Metropolis, etc.) mixed with some more "deep cuts." I think that's the way to go for tours like this.
