1. Learning To Live - It's my favourite DT song, and a top candidate for an epic setlist closer. Plenty of instrumental breaks to allow James some rest at the end of the set.
2. Stream Of Consciousness - Possibly the band's finest instrumental, and one that has not been played in two decades. That's just not right. Could be a great metaphor to emphasise the musical chemistry, the togetherness of the four instrumentalists.
3. Lines In The Sand - Another song that did not see any stage action in the Mangini years, and one I would definitely love to see sooner rather than later. Just be sure to bring back the "Baptised" pre-chorus!
4. Metropolis - As much as this song has been played to death in the past, it IS the quintessential DT piece. It belongs to any setlist that aspires to represent what the band has been, is and wishes to be in the future.
5. Goodnight Kiss - My favourite from SDOIT, has not seen the light since the Octavarium tour. It can play the role of the emotional centrepiece of the main set.
6. Breaking All Illusions - According to many the best song from its era, can be used to acknowledge MM's contribution to the history of the band.
7. These Walls/Panic Attack - Direct, catchy, great to pump the audience near the beginning of the show. Two songs for for all seasons.
8. Space-Dye Vest - As I said elsewhere, for me the greatest live revelation of the last decade. It's a song that had no business working so well as it did live, but somehow, it exceeded everyone's expectations, probably within the band as well.
9. To Live Forever - A great song in its own right, the perfect choice to pay tribute to the memory of Charlie Dominici.
10. Octavarium - An ideal candidate to close the set for a tour that promotes the band itself, rather than an album which may have its own embedded epic or closer. We haven't seen this live in its entirety in almost 20 years, it's time.
BONUS: The Root Of All Evil - An extremely strong set opener, could also serve as a nod to the 12 Steps Suite without having to play the whole thing.
