Fascinating, how close was Inferi to being picked? Good thing I went with Quo Vadis for the wildcard, I was almost considering picking something almost entirely different just to try it, but decided to stick with my guns this time. So I guess consistency did pay off relatively well, even though I could never get that coveted 9.0+ unadjusted.
Definitely check out more stuff from Quo Vadis though, especially since they tied for my highest raw score. "Silence Calls the Storm" is probably my favorite on the album and a fall semester anthem for me, though it's lighter on guitar soloing, so it felt riskier. "Dead Man's Diary" is another favorite, especially for the bass work. And their previous album has "Shores of Ithika", which TAC liked and seems to be a fan favorite.
If you run another one I'll have to decide whether to go for a different strategy, since this one seemed to land you a bunch of stuff you moderately liked, but nothing you thoroughly loved. Fascinating since I didn't have to worry as much about tunings and excessively harsh vocals so much like I do in TAC's.
Anyway, I have a ton of other different things I could have sent, but I suspect it'd have been higher variance and there'd have been a few total duds. Dunno if that would have been better even if I'd pulled off some higher-scoring ones. On one hand you give off a vibe of being set in your ways musically, but also seem to be developing an interest in some things I can't quite put my finger on yet, maybe I'll have a better idea by next time.
Anyway, thanks for having me, it was fun.
