I'd definitely recommend pretty much all of Manticora's albums. Manticora's discography can really be split between 3 distinct eras (the first 3 albums, then the middle 4, then the most recent 3), but if you want more like that song I'd stick with their most recent era. To Kill to Live to Kill and To Live to Kill to Live (which to song I sent is from) are both concept albums that combine to tell one story. The newest album Mycelium is a little weaker IMO, but still in the same vein.

I've been spinning their new album quite a bit.

"In Memory of Elizabeth Reed" I also thought was more universally known, though it's obviously much older.

As I mentioned, I heard the name everywhere, I couldn't tell you why I'd never really heard anything from them.  Even that song didn't ring a bell.  I think maybe I thought they were more in the vein of Linkin Park/Papa Roach, that kinda style, which I never really liked.

I know the Allman Bros but that song didn't ring a bell either.

Deftones' first album Around the Fur is definitely more in the nu-metal camp, but they shifted after that.  If you ever get to their album Gore you can join in on the forum war of opinions over that one.

Yeah, after that I'd probably go with either Diamond Eyes or Koi No Yokan. The former is quite intense, but with some calmer songs, and the latter is pretty atmospheric and with a more modern sound.

Luke used his wildcard and sent a long 10 minute ish song, I chose what I chose because I couldn't really make it through the other song and the riff of that one at least got me to notice.  I thought these guys were different to what I heard to be honest.  Yet, I don't know what I honestly expected.

Yea, the other choice was Miklagard Overture. That song is better, and more epic, but Wolfy being the Riffmaster General he is, thought he might pick Cursed Be Iron. Honestly didn't even consider he'd be put off by the clean vocals, I love them!

I guess that whole Viking beer drinking kind of folkish swag type stuff just usually doesn't sit well with me, as I said.  That riff and growls though, jeez, it's a shame I couldn't get into the other parts.
