Really though, the best American sitcom is actually Parks and Recreation.

Hey Stadler, your PM inbox is full.
Derek Sherinian probably stands 10 feet away from the urinal, shoots from downtown, and announces loudly that he's making history.

I've never really watched it properly either. I don't think it was that big in the UK, at least among our generation.

Ariich is a freak, or somehow has more hours in the day than everyone else.

Seinfeld set the bar too high, everything else after it pales in comparison.

Seinfeld and Friends did absolutely nothing for me. Cheers was the last good sitcom in my eyes.

I'm much kinder to Seinfeld than you are - it's REALLY good - but I'm with you on Cheers.

I don't think there's ever been the "will they or won't they" dynamic done better than Sam and Diane.

It definitely wasn't. Like I've seen a few episodes before, obviously, but it just wasn't really on TV in the UK in the 90s. Not like Friends that was just constantly repeated. Even stuff like Frasier was kind of unavoidable, but you had to actively try to catch Seinfeld. I feel like it was on late night on Channel 4, or something, but never primetime.

I just assumed it being so big here, it was massive everywhere.  I guess looking at it, maybe the kind of humor just didn't translate as well across other countries and cultures.

It was insanely big in Canada almost right from the beginning. I think it was in syndication after the first year.  But at the time I only had access to 13 channels and watched tv ten hours a day, which included TSN.

Yeah, it was on TV over here from the get go constantly too.  And when it wasn't on, there were re-runs on.

We made drinking game out of it at Uni.  Perfect start to a Thursday night ... get liquored up from 9-9:30, then head to the bars.

yes, that was one.  And some of the things by memory

Drink:
When Kramer barges in
When Elaine shoves someone
When Elaine says "shut up"
When Seinfeld breaks character and laughs
When all four are at Monks
When Newman comes to the door (2 drinks for "Helloooo, Newman")
When Jerry has a new girlfriend
When Frank and Estelle argue
When Jerry buzzes someone up

I think we had like 25 different things.

We also had a Scooby Doo drinking game.  That one you got hammered a lot faster.  :lol

Maybe Tim can start watching season 1 on dvd.

So...pretty sure I watched the first season or two, and then I would end up working nights for the next 3 1/2 years, so I missed the bulk of the series. When I came off nights, I was remarried with a young stepson and a wife that didn't really watch TV, so again, I missed the rest of the seasons.
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.  ;D
TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol
