Good morning, bedlam.

Still two days left to submit and for Seneca and Elite to confirm.

Now, to the mailbag!

Man, I really wish you tolerated orcs more, because it opens up a massive world of innovative and interesting music that you are missing out on.  :-\

"Good evening"

"Good evening, Mr Indi. What are we having today?"

"The usual, thank you. Risotto alla Pescatora and a glass of Pinot Grigio."

"Excellent. Do you wish the cook to shit inside your risotto?"

"I beg your focking pardon?"

"Yes sir, it opens up a massive world of innovative and interesting flavours you are missing out on"

"I'd rather not, thank you."

"Such a pity. I wish you tolerated the taste of shit more, Mr Indi."

"I know, I apologise. I am so close-minded."

No Orc Round in this roulette. He's had one in each of the last two.

And yet, believe it or not, someone still dared to send kobolds!

I used to feel the same way, until plain risotto got really boring.
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.  ;D
TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

I have a feeling we'll be moving on without them.

Elite sending on time would put the bizarro in the bizarro hangman.

Yeah, he logged in yesterday, but hasn't posted since November.

Elite on the hand hasn't even logged in since December, so who knows.

As to harsh vocals, I think of them more like spicy food.  Some people love it, some hate it, some like a little bit, and some can gradually raise their tolerance for it over time.  This could turn into a race to get away from the orcs, which brings along its own mythology of intrigue.

It's not a roulette without Cousy & Heinsohn.

Good morning bedlam!

You have fine tuned your engines and picked the right tire mixes; you've spent the week studying the track's features, searching for its patches of optimal grip, conjuring ideal corner lines. You are clever, prepared, and roulette-hardened professionals, but then the business goes Bizarro on your buttocks, and this time Bizarro solving is a race inside the race. So, please let me give you a bit of Bizarro solving tutorial in order to avoid a huge car wreck before the race even starts.

Welcome to the first Michael Hutchence Memorial Competitive Bizarro Hangman Tutorial:

I promised 1 extra Overtake Point for every item solved in Bizarro Hangman. Let's define what a solved item is, for future litigation's sake.

In the next 12 hours you will see a column made of 17 of these:

?: Focked More Miners Than Firedamp - Peter North Was Not

A) Let's say LithoJazzoUltron hacks into my data and comes up with: Iron Maiden. Partially correct, but that is NOT a solved item.

B) Let's say EverXavier reads my mind and comes up with: Afraid to Shoot Strangers. Partially correct, but that is NOT a solved item.

C) Let's say Thanariich uses his gauntlet and comes up with: Iron Maiden - Afraid to Shoot Strangers. That IS a solved item.

Once both Scenarios A and B occur, then whoever between LithoJazzoUltron and EverXavier guesses the sender (the "?" in the string) gets the Overtake Point. They have infinite shots at that, they only need to guess in turn. On the other hand, each of the other players have one shot at guessing the sender; they won't get the Point, but will dastardly deprive both the original contenders of their chance at said Point.

When Scenario C occurs, Thanariich is already granted his Point, but he has one shot at doubling it by guessing the sender. The other players' dastardly intervention mentioned above still applies.

Conclusions:

. There are 17 (potentially 34) Extra Overtake Points up for grabs
. Ideally, you may want to guess the whole item
. Practically, you better edge your bets by guessing as many partial items as possible, therefore contending for different items.
. Everytime I mentioned one shot, I meant only one guess, but before an item has definite contenders the guesses are infinite.
. I blatantly ripped Chad off. Apologies and thanks.

Questions?

I think I need to take the day off work! I have 1 question, but I think the answer may give me a slight advantage, so I'm not going to ask it.

Just so I'm clear. If you guess either the artist or song, you are one step closer to "locking in" one overtake point. However, you need to be the first to guess the sender to lock in the point (even if you didn't completely solve by guessing artist AND song title)?

Correct. You become one of two contenders for the point.

Correct, but guessing the sender is locked and forbidden until both artist and song are guessed by anybody else.

Or two hours in Elite's case!   :lol

Most of us may be prepared, but you're severely over-estimating the "clever" part.

I've only had 2 sips of coffee so far, so I'm as confused as a lesbian in a fish market.  In the above example, it's only going to be Scenarios A+B, OR Scenario C (ie, someone completing the song/band combo isn't JUST going to solve the song or band).  So, in Scenario C where someone immediately solves band and song, they are the only one that can grab the second point?  And they have to alternate their guesses with one of the other 16 participants trying cock-blocking them, but said other 16 participants cannot earn the second point?

Is it permissible to guess the sender and the band?  Like, when we see Baby Metal can we immediately identify it as lonestar's, or must the band AND song be solved before identifying the sender?

Also, edging bets sounds so much more erotic than hedging them.

That's a word salad - and take it from me, I know word salad
I fear for the day when something happens on the right that is SO nuts that even Stadler says "That's crazy".
