It's a lot of pressure to pick 2 albums to be truthful.  I mean, what if you pick one and you fucking hate it.  I'll think about two albums.  Are you going to sample any of our picks before committing?

I still am flabbergasted at why you feel the need to do this.  :lol

Korn's debut just cracked my top 50.  What an incredible, angry, hostile, moody and intense album.  So new and unique for the time and at times, a disturbing album.  Groovy as fuck too.

Yea dude, it's really fucking good. The Deftones finally clicked with me a few years ago, after 20 years of casual listening. I feel I'm about to have the same happen with Korn.

Tom, I will.post two albums, I'll do it sometime later today.

Deftones were one I never got into.  Can't even say I really tried truthfully.  Work forward with Korn too.  Life is Peachey is another really good, dark album.  Nothing like the debut but very cool stuff.

Yea I was the same with Deftones but something clicked a few years ago. Must be something about nu-metal bands.

I'm pretty familiar with Korn's first 6 albums, and had them in various mp3 players over the years. They never really clicked previously but really vibing with the self titled and Follow the Leader at the moment. Gonna slowly work my way through their catalogue, see how much I'm enjoying it.

I agree on the roulette front, but it can be quite daunting committing to a roulette, especially with the efficiency that some of you guys run yours!

The thing with a roulette is that the format can be whatever the host likes. This idea could definitely be turned into an album roulette, if Tom is so inclined, but this idea as is is fun too.

Jokes aside, I fully understand the impulse and sentiment for this thread/challenge. I'm still a prisoner of my "buy a record and stay with it until you have money for the next one" youth, and I'm generally a slow burn eviscerator of music rather than a browser. I will be lucky if I get to go through the collections I've inherited from my father and brother.

So, I genuinelly support your challenge and possibly a roulette.

OK, we're doing this. My top two has to be...

Coheed and Cambria - Good Apollo I’m Burning Star IV, Volume One: From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness

and

The Dear Hunter - Act IV: Rebirth in Reprise

I can't remember if you are overly familiar with these albums or not dude, but we're going there. Let me know if I need to pick something else.

Tom, your Christmas gift this year from Luke is NOT getting King Gizzard as a recommendation.  :lol
