Welp that didn't work out, my apologies folks, I just got a new job (which I hate deeply), and that consumed my time quite a bit yesterday. So, deathmatch results:

Romy - Loveher
Yeah I've never been huge on the xx, but I really like Jamie's solo album (you should check it out btw), so I was curious about this one. Pulsating basslines, lovely pianos, catchy percussion, and great vocals. I love this, but on my first listen I felt a bit underwhelmed and like it was too short, and now I realize why - I was listening to it on headphones! Put it on the speakers, at a nice loud volume, and dang, it came to life. But that's just true of most electronic music tbh.
Anyway, I quite dig this one, might even be the best you've sent me so far.

Xploding Plastix - Treat Me Mean, I Need the Reputation
This is a pretty fun and a bit quirky instrumental. Love the intense, glitchy drums paired with the piano, and the whole vibe is quite fun, always changing but never feeling aimless. Yet it can feel a bit repetitve for me, but it works for what they're aiming at here. Cool stuff.

Sweet Billy Pilgrim - Longstreth
This one, as all HOFcore, is quite lovely and warm. Even when some distorted guitars pop up eventually, they don't feel out of place at all. The layer of vocals is really nice, and the organs are subtle but fit in so well. Yeah this is very nice, feels like a little fire on a cold evening.

Sweet Billy Pilgrim - A Shelter of Reeds
A bit of a longer track, this one starts quite subtle, taking turns with both singers. This one does have a bit of an old prog feel to it, but subtle. I like the vocal harmonies here, and the strings tagging along, reminds me of some of the Daisuke records I love so much. Quite different to the other song, but still quite nice.
