Yeah, I think both of us have blinders on to a degree, but I do legitimately like mine as well.  It's certainly a dip from what I normally send, and I wouldn't expect others to like it as much without the context of experiencing it where and when I did, but while it's certainly low-budget, it's clear-sounding and not wildly different from the sort of soloing you get in a lot of prog rock, power metal, and jazz/fusion.
