Fantastic.

Ruslan and Jazzo doing a perfect impression of two guys playing Worms on PS1, both left with just one worm, both with only simple grenades available, both suspended on a tiny speck of pixel terrain on opposite margins of the screen.

:lmao:

I'm in tears reading this.

I'm beginning to wonder if LJS is trolling ME with this submission.

Is it a Dream Theater cover by any chance? The Ulrik guy has a "DT Jam" on their MySpace connections page.

I know you can't answer this. :)

Okay I have no idea.

If the letter-guessing cooldown resets, give me W (for What the fuck is Litho's song) when it does. See you in 6 hours.

Speaking of "W", Kade's band is "Winterborn".  Good grief that took way too long.

I'll take an "O" if we're opening up letters again.

I don't know if I'm really facepalming though.  Never heard of it, just not one of the permutations I'd tried yet.

Kade's was hard because it's almost always displayed as "Lovehunter".

Well damn.  I kind of see what you mean.  The song title doesn't usually have the parenthetical subtitle.  I've heard that album of course, but it's not one I've spun a lot, I found it underwhelming (and mentioned somewhere in the last few months that I probably should revisit it).

I'm a huge Katatonia and Opeth fan, but I can't claim to be a world-renowned expert on them unfortunately, same way Lethean was able to sneak in that Sailors With Wax Wings song into my roulette.  If I'd heard it beforehand, I'd forgotten about it.

Are we still waiting to see if king, Stadler, or any observers are going to contribute any letters?  If not we're probably still at a 0.5 deadlock for awhile, because Ruslan is likely asleep and I might as well be.

Not sure why it's one word though, it's listed as separate words on the guys last fm. Something seems fishy to me...

Well, in this case (and in the case of Puppies' with the additional title in parenthesis), I just copy/pasted into the hangman spreadsheet the way the title and .mp3 were sent to me.

Looks like that wraps it up.

That's just how the file name was listed when I downloaded it a long time ago.  Notice "Progjam" is also listed both ways.

So, the story on it is that I used to post at the Jordan Rudess forum, and Ulrik was one of the posters there.  Really smart and interesting guy, and apparently Oxford thought so too.  He still does some live music with The Karaoke Collective, but doesn't seem to record anymore that I know of.  Anyway, there was a series of prog rock/metal jams he did for the JR forum, and I was blown away in particular by that one.  As Evermind found, there's also a "DT Jam".  He used to have them hosted on Myspace and possibly elsewhere, but since the JR forum and Myspace are long defunct, they're verging on lost media now.  But it felt appropriate to spread the love to another DT fan who had an influence on me.  If anyone wants to hear the song I can e-mail it to you.

I've gotta hand it to Ruslan, he's managed to get everyone so myopically focused on taking me down that all he needs to do now is have jingle like his song 0.5 more than mine to go into sudden death, or 1.0 more to outright win.  :lol

Although, I suppose if the song quality winner isn't in the top 4 we could have another mini-round of drama to come.

Not per se that know of.  It's possible he's done other work I'm not aware of under other names, but as himself, I just know of the hobbyist recordings he was doing back then, and that he does some live stuff on the side more recently with another group, and I can't find much with them either.  I wish I knew of more, he was one of the two most interesting players from there.  At least, of the people who weren't already known quantities (like Frank Lucas, and JR's keyboard tech Bert Baldwin, for example).

Mason.  Loving your submission.

One of my favorites too.  Maybe it'll get him to open up a bit more to growls and blasts.

Jeez mate, I gotta say, is this tactic really in the spirit of the game?  I mean, you gave it to RJ but this seems way more extreme.
