Eh, I abandoned last.fm a few years ago as its output was just too unbalanced. Bands with short songs massively over-represented, bands with long songs massively under-represented.

I hear ya, but I'm 12 years in to it now, and basically just let it run in the background.  It sometimes glitches and counts songs like 20 times in a row, but otherwise it's just an interesting view into my listening habits.  It seems like it would be a daunting task to switch to anything else, like RYM.

I really appreciate the word connect in quotations for my benefit to help me understand.  :lol

I'm just getting into Spotify.  If I ever get to last.fm though I think it means hell has just about frozen over.

Do it. Do it. Do it.

It's one short step now. You just create an account then let it keep a record of your listening (the addiction comes later).

https://community.spotify.com/t5/FAQs/How-can-I-connect-Spotify-to-Last-fm/ta-p/4795301

last.fm will also scrobble from Youtube.  It's a bit more manual from iTunes off an iPhone, but there's a desktop app to scrobble whatever you play through your computer.  I have no idea what it's like off an Android phone - though, I did download some kind of scrobbler onto my FiiO mp3 player (which runs Android).

Woah hold up.  One step at a time lads.  I don't like moving so fast on a first date.

Isn't that just the way it is though with any platform?  Unless others go by time over tracks?

Some bands don’t want their stuff on streaming services.  Glass Hammer (which probably shouldn’t have taken that long to guess as they aren’t exactly a new or obscure band) probably chooses that route.

1. I was really trying to find a way to enjoy this, and I kinda got there.
2. I had expectations of what this was going to be, and it was about spot on.
3. TAC: Cotopaxi - Exogenetic ... That was about 1 minute of music packed into 5+ minutes
4. Wow!!! and then eehhhhh - a different kind of wow … and then, Tolkein-metal
5. lonestar: Ikejirike - Libertà .... I think I dropped my jaw somehwere
6. Honor Thy Father pt 2
7. Evermind: Meduza - Sleep ... It's not MSG, but it's some bitchin axe-work
8. Perfectly inoffensive with a lot that should appeal to me.
9. With that shreddery, I now know how RJ feels after an Allegaeon show
10. Now THAT is some soft-cock shit

I'm not aware of any similar sites (including Spotify itself) that uses time played so I just don't use anything like that. I love Spotify but I only use it for listening to stuff and ignore any stats etc. For tracking albums I've listened to and how much I like them, I use RYM.

Ariich is a freak, or somehow has more hours in the day than everyone else.

Between Ikejirike and Cotopaxi this was probably the most difficult hangman so far.

Some bands don’t want their stuff on streaming services.  Glass Hammer (which probably shouldn’t have taken that long to guess as they aren’t exactly a new or obscure band) probably chooses that route.

Well, someone should have solved them earlier then!   :cow:   I already knew who they were, but the combination of letters that were coming up and the fact that you can't find them on streaming made them quite difficult to find.  Similar with Meduza.

Eh, I abandoned last.fm a few years ago as its output was just too unbalanced. Bands with short songs massively over-represented, bands with long songs massively under-represented.

I don't see that as a particularly massive deal, really.  I used it for a few years, but I stopped because I found it wore me down trying to make sure everything I listened to was logged and properly tagged.  Now with streaming tagging isn't as big of a deal for some people, but I would still find it a hassle because much of my music listening is from stuff on the hard drive.

I hear ya, but I'm 12 years in to it now, and basically just let it run in the background.  It sometimes glitches and counts songs like 20 times in a row, but otherwise it's just an interesting view into my listening habits.  It seems like it would be a daunting task to switch to anything else, like RYM.

The functionality of RYM is quite different from last.fm.  The latter is more for real-time tracking, the former for cataloging your music whenever you want (and much more).

Gizzverse confirmed.

Alluda Majaka smacks of someone basically sticking their catalogue on random and sending the first song that plays :lol  it's such a weird choice, but it has slight The Doors vibes so maybe that was enough for our Dadler.

God, I hope it's Dadler

Right?  :lol

He definitely deserves the points as no fucker pegged him for it.

One, I've dug in to the Gizzard and I kind of like it, but I haven't yet really made sense of it, so I'm not at "love it".  I dig the vibe of that song but two, honestly it was absolutely for the anonymity and unpredictability of it, and it seems like that backfired.  Half a point?  Are you kidding me?   I'm sending Kiss next; maybe someone will say "Stadler can't be THAT obvious, can he?"   Yes, yes, he can.  :)

It smacks of picking a song title that is hard to guess in hangman.  Which didn't help anyway.   ;D

Think it's gonna get whipped in the actual scoring though. Plus, Chad will write the band off forever! I mean, Han-tyumi and the Murder of the Universe would get them written off even quicker, but at least he'd have witnessed the cyborgs demise.

I think song quality would've had more an impact if Chad had done ranked scoring. People might be less willing to send some jibberish track name that sucked if it could result in a 1.

Look at my last, oh, ten roulettes. Do you think that would have deterred me?    :) :) :) :) :)

Dude... with all the talk about King G over the past, I dunno, 8-10 roulettes, how could you NOT know that the band name would be unique enough to be identifiable quickly.  I even tried to do you a solid by replacing the "&" with "and".

@Indi... whilst not offensive, that's not your impression.  The hint is that I told you I knew the TSO version rather well.

If Kade wants to get a letter guessed, I'll reset that clock - since King is at the football game today, and Stads is, well, weekending.

Stads is only available on the weekend during Bruins games, apparently.  :lol
