I fear for the day when something happens on the right that is SO nuts that even Stadler says "That's crazy".

Hey Stadler, your PM inbox is full.

Evermind.

No, it was me.

OK, here's my guesses for who submitted what, as well as my first impressions.

Some of these I'm pretty certain about. Some not so sure. Some were just blind guesses. I'm not gonna explain my reasoning.  :P

Protest the Hero - Underbite
I’m feeling pretty good tonight. Love the vocals. Guitar work reminds me of BTBAM and Periphery. Ending was kind of abrupt.

My Guess: Buddyhunter1
Correct Sender: lonestar

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nirvana - All Apologies
I’ll admit I’ve heard bits and pieces of this one, but I don’t think I’ve ever listened to the whole song. I like the cello.

My Guess: ariich
Correct Sender: faizoff

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Emma Ruth Rundle - Shadows of My Name
Great voice. Love the vibe of this one, very cinematic.

My Guess: Lizzo

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Frank Turner - Don’t Worry
Stomp
Clap
Stomp Stomp
Clap

Stomp
Clap
Stomp Stomp
Clap

This one didn’t do much for me. Might grow on me, though.

My Guess: twosuitluke

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Rembrandts - New King
Didn’t know these guys wrote the Friends theme song. Sucks what happened to Matthew Perry. Song was just OK. I do love a good 90’s snare.

My Guess: King Postwhore

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yargos - Time Drops
It’s like Jon Bon Jovi showed up to the wrong recording session. I like the piano, but not much else. A bit melodramatic

My Guess: jingle.boy

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Marillion - A Collection
Very pretty. Leaves you wanting more.

My Guess: lonestar
Correct Sender: romdrums

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Amorphis - Sacrifice
Love that guitar tone. Not sure about the vocals. Cool instrumental section.

My Guess: Puppies
Correct Sender: ariich

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sweet Billy Pilgrim - Just Above Midtown
Very groovy. Very catchy. Has been stuck in my head since the first listen.

My Guess: HOF

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Psychedelic Porn Crumpets - Cornflake
What a name. Cool riff. Love the reverb. More of this please.

My Guess: faizoff
Correct Sender: Buddyhunter1

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lumsk - Das Veilchen
2 years of German in High School didn’t prepare me for this. Very pretty voice. Great guitar work. Das ist gut. Really enjoyed this one.

My Guess: TAC

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Blackmore’s Night - Self Portrait
I thought this sounded familiar, then I realized it was a cover of a Rainbow song I haven’t heard in 10 years. Interesting take on it. Love the vocals. I’ve never been a Ren Faire kind of guy, but mead and mutton does sound good right now…

My Guess: Stadler

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sui Generis - Canción para mi Muerte
Another very catchy number. A good summer song. And despite it being October, it is still Summer here in VA. 81 degrees today.

My Guess: Sacul

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Cure - Lovesong
Thanks for sending me this. That keyboard melody (You know the one) has been stuck in my head for years, and I didn’t know what it was from. Song was just alright.

My Guess:romdrums
Correct Sender: ProfessorPeart

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mew - Why Are You Looking Grave
First heard this band years ago with the song “Introducing Palace Players” from that album with the long name. Hated it. Love this. You gotta admire J. Mascis’ ability to sound bored out of his mind no matter what he sings, but it always works.

My Guess: ProfessorPeart
Correct Sender: Puppies

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kalandra - Brave New World
Cool groove. Great vocals. Great mix.

My Guess: Evermind

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Vega - Explode
I feel like I’m in a Rocky Balboa training montage. Cool song though.

My Guess: wolfking

You didn't ask, but here's my ranking of the Rocky Movies

1. Rocky IV
2. Rocky II
3. Rocky
4. Rocky III
5. Rocky V
6. Rocky VI

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So now everybody reveals what they actually submitted, and laughs at how badly I know your musical tastes.

Hit it out of the park!

And despite it being October, it is still Summer here in VA. 81 degrees today.

Ah, but it will be in the 20s Wednesday evening.  That is how the weather works in this state.

Yup, it was a classic summer camp song for that generation - one of the first tunes my mother learned to play on the guitar when she was young as well.

I didn't send Amorphis. That's a good song though.

I sent Mew. Thought you'd get a kick out of J. Mascis being there. :metal And you are correct, his ability to sound bored and making it work is second to none.

Pretty much. I did it to myself with trying to honor the 'try to not send Prog/Metal' ask. I could easily send fantastic songs in every round but they'd almost all be some sort of Prog and/or Metal. Not really trying to win, trying to send songs that I really like that don't quite fit the Prog/Metal range. Round 2 is locked and loaded. I feel better about that round and will probably tank anyway. I have a huge collection but you guys constantly are throwing stuff out there that I have never heard of. No idea where you find all this stuff.

Oh yeah. :lol I guess I sort of thought you'd reveal scores and THEN we'd disclose what we sent, for some reason.

Anyway I sent Amorphis. Interesting that you guessed me for Nirvana. I mean I don't dislike them or anything, but there's only one of their albums I particularly like (which that song isn't on) and even then I doubt I'd think of sending them in a roulette.

Ariich is a freak, or somehow has more hours in the day than everyone else.
