Uhh.....I have to send something light.....

I didn't interpret the "start with something light" first line as meaning the song should be light in tone - the first lines of other rounds are things like "something to whet my appetite". The second line (short and simple) is what I read as being the theme for the round, but it could be a short simple metal tune for example.

That was my reading of it anyway, but perhaps Metro can confirm one way or the other?

I have little confidence in my first round. Round 2 is the only one I have locked and have had locked for some time. 3 and 4 are incomplete and I got nothing for 5. Why did I join this again?

Given our host has never played in a roulette before, his tastes are a bit of an enigma.  I have some ideas for future rounds but I'm waiting to see how he enjoys the first round of dishes.  I wanna get a sense of what his sonic palate is like before deciding on what to serve for the next courses.

I wouldn't think anyone (other than Litho  ) would go to that extent.  But in the situation where he knows there are only 3 people left to submit, and someone outs themselves as having not sent yet, then kinda knows that one of those last submissions is going to be that person.  Or vice versa, if he sees that he only has received 3 submissions, and someone proclaims they *have* sent, then it's the same (but reversed).
