Cool gift, but I will never like him. In 2018, picking him (over Brent Burns) in my hockey pool cost me over $1000. I would’ve won if I had Burns, but with Ghost as my player in the 1st defence box, I finished 4th (out of 120)

In case he doesn't come back to post for another 6 months, he bailed on the Flyers when they hired Torts, and Chuck Fletcher was intent on driving the team off a cliff.  In the summer before last season, he polled the NHL crew here to decide which non-Canadian team he should become a fan of (fucking nationalist!).  Somehow he ended up with Detroit.

There were some moves near the end of Fletcher's term that really had me on the edge. Then Torts got hired who I've always loathed, and that's when I disowned them.

The long of it is that way back when the Red Wings were a Western team I always followed them in addition to the Flyers, but dropped off a bit when they came into the same conference. So when I departed the Flyers they were a natural pick, and since they hadn't been in the playoffs for forever, it's not like anyone could accuse me of hopping on a bandwagon.

That's fair, but in my defense I have always been an active lurker at worst. I know I don't post much anymore, but I check certain threads daily, and generally peruse at least once a day. I don't know why, but I just don't actively throw myself into the discussions as I used to.
