Welcome to Jamesman, again!

As I said, I took a long break from checking out new music for about 8 or 9 years. Life was just very full, and I was in a weird place, and I also started a family. But I am ready to hear some fresh music as life has really started to find a good rhythm and I am settling.

The rounds are super simple. Give me a song from the year indicated. It can be your favorite song or something you think will appeal to me. I hope this is a fun challenge to find a single song from a whole year. Doesn’t sound easy.

Tastes
I like a lot of music, but mostly rock and metal. That doesn’t mean anything is limited, but you’ll likely hit the mark with me more with rock and metal. I can enjoy harsh vocals, but not always. I don’t have any up-to-date music ratings, but some of my favorite bands are Thrice, Dream Theater, Rush, System of a Down, and The Warning. But that’s not expressive of everything I like. But, I have been known to like Nicki Minaj songs, so really, it’s just if I like it. You never know!

I am also a fan of songs that don’t meander forever.  Few bands can do that well, imo. If your song is longer, still submit it! 8 minutes is a good limit, but not a harsh rule. I don’t have all the time to listen, so I’d like to keep the playlist to under 2 hours. When I go back to work in 2 weeks, I will have good commutes to be able to listen more as well.

There will be an off-chance I will have heard your song, so maybe have a backup in case that happens, or if someone sends the same song before you do.
