Rush studio albums countdown thread!!! (#01 revealed!!)

Alright, let's do this. We will count down the Rush studio albums of original material, which means we are leaving Feedback out.

The rules:
-Albums must be listed from 19 to 1 in order (in reverse order), with no ties.  No having three albums at number 1 or anything like that.  DO NOT list your albums with the points total. List them in your order (I will figure out the points on my end).
-Any list submitted with the albums not numbered will be ignored.
-Anyone wanting to submit a list must do so by the end of day, Saturday, June 3rd.  I will then begin the countdown shortly thereafter.
-The list will be tallied numerically in a simple way. On each list, whatever album is at number 1 gets 19 points, number 2 gets 18 points, number 3 gets 17 points, etc.
-PROOFREAD YOUR LISTS BEFORE SENDING THEM.  Any list with the same album mentioned twice will be not be counted.

Feel free to post in this thread as well that you have PM'd me, if for no other reason than to bump this back up for others who may want to participate who may not have seen the thread yet.

Alright, I've been looking for a reason for years to revisit the half of their discography I've only heard a handful of times; this will be it. Don't know if I'll get through everything before the deadline, but I'll submit something working with what I have, and at least listen to everything by the end of the countdown.

Nice one. In for sure. Will be very interesting to see how it plays out as there are some really different opinions on the Rush catalogue I have read here over the years (ie PW is the best album of all time to PW is the worst album of all time).

Same here. For me there is a massive drop-off after the top half. Might give this a go. Definitely following.

Oh I'm in. I need to revisit some of the albums from the latter part of their discography though. I tend to focus on their 1975-1982 period a lot more.

Hell yeah! The timing couldn't be better as I finally went on a Rush deep dive last month. I especially love their mid-'80s material and so I hope those albums do well!

My top 4 could go in almost any order, and same with 5-8.  The bottom 5 were easiest.

My bottom two were clear going in, as was the identity of 15-17.  The order of 15-17 could theoretically be different, but I wasn't going to worry too much about the bottom 5.

I’m actually having a big problem with the first four.

They’ve actually ended up being grouped together at a certain level in the ranking…but in shuffling things around, it’s difficult to put them in order. I have a very strong affection for each of those albums in a different way, but no matter what order I put them in I feel like something should be either higher or lower.

I think I’ve decided that FBN is my least favorite of the bunch. But saying that sounds ludicrous because it was Neil’s debut and there are several songs that blow away anything on the first album, but there’s also some duds and I consider the first album to be more consistent.  I’m glad we have another week because I have to give this more consideration.

Just for clarification, I was only saying FBN might be my least favorite *of the first four*. I intentionally left out where those four albums will land within my ranking. They could be 1-4 or they could be 16-19. Or even possibly spread out among the list.

I actually thought the Bottom 5 were the hardest to rank.

My top 6 are solid, and fun to rank; then the next 4 were slotted fairly easily. The bottom 4 fell in to place without much thought. Now the remaining 6 I have no idea what to do with.

I didn’t have any trouble with the bottom 4 on my list or the top 4 on my list. The 11 in the middle are a bit more fluid (though I’d say the top 11 are pretty clear).
