Curious to see if you guess mine…not very hard, actually…favorite album is not by my favorite band (although among the very favorites, for sure)

Mentioned  several times, not sure if in threads you frequent the most, though.

Fire away!

Yours is a bit more of a challenge Nick. Probably wrong, but I want to say something like Paradise Lost.

Paradise Lost is in my top 5, so that’s an excellent guess. But no, not my favorite.

Both my favorite album and band (which, again, is different) are not shockers for DTF, I’d say :)

Dream Theater by any chance?  :lol

Getting close! My favorite album is indeed by DT (which one?). DT are one of my absolute favorite bands too, but not #1…again, my #1 is not terribly unusual for DTF. Want to take one last guess?

I'll say Images and Words as the album, Maiden as the band.

Correct on I&W, not on Maiden (although another good guess, as they are certainly up there)

Favorite band is one that has had a fair amount of influence on DT’s sound…

So about 50% of my posting is in the Star Trek thread, which means my favorite album must be 'The Transformed Man' by William Shatner, right?  Wrong.  I think I may have mentioned it here a few times, but how much deep diving into the posting history of someone who talks Star Trek 50% of the time is up to you!
This is exactly what I'm talking about! I have never (and probably never will) set foot in the Star Trek thread, so have missed half your posts  :lol

Just saying though, if Arnold Rimmer was in Star Trek, I'd be way more likely to watch.

I'm not going into people's post history dude, just going off my own knowledge and memory. I'm completely drawing a blank for you. Any hints? You're from the UK right? That gonna give me any leads?

Yes I'm from the UK.  No that's isn't going to give you any leads :)
OK let's scooby a clue in...It's a debut album from the early 90's.

Have at it.  Should be pretty easy and I've mentioned both my fav band and album quite a number of times.

Your top 5 artists are all Winger? Album, not sure but Scar Symmetry - Holographic Universe is up there.

Hmmm....why did you think this thread was a good idea again?   :lol

I did say it would be a shit show. You haven't denied Winger being your favourite, so I win.

Lol.  Definitely not Winger though.
Everyone else, except Wolfking is wrong.

The new Winger song is incredible.

I actually prefer the first single but the second half of the new song is indeed amazing.  Reb is some player.

I feel like it's gonna be glaringly obvious, but I'm drawing a blank. I know a lot of what you like, but absolute favourite? That's tough. You're generally a pretty straight up metal head so gonna start obvious with Maiden?

I'm sure I've mentioned my favorite band and favorite album on more than one occasion on the forums, so this should be easy for you. :corn

Moonsorrow for the band. Album? That Marillion one where the kid is holding marbles up to his eyes. Next!

Well, you got the album right, but not the band.

I personally love it too, definitely a top 5 Dream Theater release. Are we talking a controversial Dream Theater release for you?

I'll throw you a couple bones here - yeah, my favorite album is by Dream Theater and it's definitely not an album that sees universal praise. Also, my favorite artist is not Dream Theater (though they'd be #2).

I guess I would say this: nearly all of my favorite artists are either way past their prime or, more likely, disbanded. I need to learn to love again.

Artists? Something Steven Wilson, or trip hop.

Albums, I coud go way back and say Super Mario Galaxy soundtrack or something like Weather Systems. But also, something like ...Endtroducing or a Mike Oldfield might be in with a chance. Covered all bases?
You nailed the artist, but not the albums, albeit those you mentioned are indeed in my top 50 ;D

Can't justify calling Nemophila a favorite with only two albums to their name, although seeing them live 4 times in the past 10 months may dictate otherwise :lol

Seems like if I'm unsure, I just guess Dream Theater, Rush or Iron Maiden. Sure to come up trumps most times.

Shit dude, my mouth was writing cheques my ass can't cash! I've got no clue honesty. Errr, is it Dream Theater, Rush or Iron Maiden?

Great guesses! NOFX are indeed my favourite punk band, and a top 5 all time band. Children of Bodom aren't my all time favourite, but for a good 10 year period they were my #3 favourite band!
