This is like a WildRanger thread, except the two choices are logically comparable...

So, nothing like a WildRanger thread. Damn, I miss that guy.

Well said. I really miss that guy!

I do too. Why do you guys think that so many Iron Maiden fans are also fans of Queensryche?

Objectively or subjectively?

Gotta go with QR. As much as it pains me not to vote for SiT (my favorite Maiden album), I too am not the biggest fan of SSoaSS (decent, but not great). Plus RFO is my favorite QR album, and O:M on most days is my second favorite, so QR it is.
As a basic rule, if you hate it, you must solely blame Portnoy. If it's good, then you must downplay MP's contribution to the band as not being important anyway, or claim he's just lying. It's the DTF way.

I still have no use for Iron Maiden, so QR it is.

Always surprised to see metal fans who don’t care for Maiden. Not a criticism.

Seventh Son is actually my favorite of the bunch at the moment, but Somewhere in Time is my least, so I went with QR.  Rage for Order is incredible, and so is Mindcrime even though I'm a little tired of it.

Queensryche on the strength of Mindcrime alone.  I'm more of a Maiden fan, but I'll echo what someone else said earlier, Operation Mindcrime is one of the best albums ever by anyone IMO.

Well, I'm not a huge metal fan, though I will admit it's a bit odd to like QR and not Maiden.

Never got into Maiden, so it’s QR for me.

Immensely hard choice. Love all 4 records.

Voted Maiden based on the fact that both of those records get played much on the Action decks than QR.

(But out of those 4 - only Mindcrime is a desert island album of mine.  :azn:)

Also surprised how many don't have Maiden as one of their musical vitamins. I guess that's just not being able to see past myself, though.

It's almost impossible to me...
Rage/O:M/Empire - my favorites albums by QR (being O:M #1)
Powerslave/SiT/7th Son - my favorites albums by Maiden (being 7th Son #1)
Classic Maiden is still a bit ahead in my personal ranking of best bands of all the time than classic QR, but... I still think O:M is more of an undisputed masterpiece than 7th Son.
Ok, QR wins!

While I adore SiT, Seventh Son is awful, so it's an easy decision.
What the fuck is wrong with you? Jesus Christ! Are you daft?  SMDH.

Maiden as a general proposition and it's not even close, but you have QR's best album and two of Maiden's very good but not great records
Yeah, this nails it. It's like comparing the best AFC vs NFC teams (from 9/85 - 1/86):lol

Individually the two QR albums come out on top looking at them right now, but I was around in 1988 and it was a very different story back then. Rage might be the best album of the lot, but nobody thought that at the time. Gotta go with Maiden on this, but it's a dicey proposition.

Maiden, but it was very close.  OM is a legendary album for a reason -  and I like Rage almost just as much. But Seventh Son is still my favorite Maiden album while SiT ranks not that far from the top either.

Mindcrime and Rage in my Top3 or 4 Queensryche's but Seventh Son and Caught Somewhere In Time are my first and second favourite Maiden albums.

So in an extraordinary twist for this fan I went with Maiden over Queensryche for this one  :lol

Regardless, all four are essential pieces of my collection \m/
