Round 3 First Impressions!Seneca: Really lush and pretty soundscapes and unlike a lot of similar songs in this roulette, I do feel like it actually
does something with them.
Buddy: This style has never quite worked for me and the dated synths are a huge part of it, like, it's not unpleasant, just kinda… fine?
TAC: Y'know, it's both pretty funny and kinda upsetting that what I assume was a "dart throwing" submission turned out one of the better and more on-point picks for the round
Lonestar: Honestly kind of shocked I didn't get more tunes in this lane for this round, on a prog forum, this is the kind of stuff I'd expect a
ton of.
King: Cool pairing of a strong groove and a darker undertone and dear god do I wish the vocals were not. Like that.
Litho: I think it's the darker, harsher sounds that make this interesting, but I could also see its hyperfocus on its atmosphere kneecapping it in the long run.
Stadler: This is solid but I see myself liking it more if it were a proper rock song, some of these synths are… weird.
Dacul: A man on a mission to, against all odds, single-handedly make this round almost as long as the rounds before it.
faizoff: There's a funny trend going on here. Accidental cheating. I like it.
Reaper: Giving this a solid "has a neat sound but lacks any structure to really stick the landing" out of ten, a worryingly common trend in this roulette.
Luke: Oh man, if you'd watched the rest of my video I linked in the round 2 results, you absolutely would not have sent me this, haha.
Tomi: One of those acts that's in the same circle as a lot of other artists I've really dug recently and subsequently one of the songs here I was looking forward to the most.
HOF I suspect sending this kind of thing from this particular artist was probably a smart move.
Puppies: Oh, this is cute. Not sure I have many other thoughts on it. It's just. Cute.
Vmadera: Not sure it ever, like… develops enough for me to love it, but it's a cool listen.
Ariich: There's a lot going on here that I'm definitely gonna need more listens to unravel but what stands out most is how strong this song's momentum is.
playlist i keep forgetting to add:
https://open.spotify.com/playlist/4ggIxvJfMjFvEW5m4DYEWDalright, comparisons coming shortly once i finish fourth listens... got one writeup done already for what i'd handily call my least favorite song of the roulette so far, but otherwise the rest are gonna be done in the coming days. was hoping results earlier than i'm gonna end up delivering them but just didn't get a lot of time to work on this over the weekend
