Round 1 First Impressions!Puppies: See, this is why I asked people not to send djent.
2. Not -quite- what I expected from this artist, but it's at least up to their quality standard!
3. Maybe not quite my taste, and a touch long for what it is, but fun enough to make up for that.
4. Dude this frickin' rips, why did nobody tell me about this?
Luke: Pretty dang close to what I tend to look for in this genre, but the vocals might be a sticking point.
TAC: I don't know how you always manage to whip out these obscure bands nobody's ever heard of who never blow me away but always manage to clear most everything else sent in a round.
7. As far as the more straightforward rock songs in this round go, this is one of the groovier and more exciting ones.
8. Much fuller sound and a more adventurous spirit than what I've heard from these guys before.
9. I'm left wanting a little bit more than I got out of this, but there a lot of moments that caught my ear and room for it to grow on me, so.
Lonestar: Feels like a cool intro to a song that never quite starts.
11. Very hit or miss band for me and this is closer to a miss but it's mostly just… unremarkable.
12. This tickles at a lot of different parts of my prog brain but the vocals are… really strangely underweight.
Faizoff: This was better that I was expecting, admittedly, but it's still leaving me a bit cold.
14. It's got really lovely atmosphere and vocals but I wish the melodies were more pronounced.
15. Feels more like an overture rather than a proper song, but it's an overture made up of pretty good parts, so.
16. This started out completely different from what I expected given the artist behind it, then it turned into exactly what I expected soon after.
i was supposed to post this yesterday oops. well anyways.
