What's slightly strange is the BBC article doesn't mention Sapphire and Steel which he starred in. It was a really creepy sci-fi drama in the late 70s/early 70s. Well, creepy to a seven year old.

Edit: it's all been updated now.

David McCallum passed away at the age of 90. He was best known for his roles in The Man From U.N.C.L.E. and NICS, though my introduction to him was as Ashely-Pitt 'Dispersal' in The Great Escape. I never watched The Man From U.N.C.L.E. but was a huge fan of NICS in the early days (I stopped watching around season 7 maybe) and he was an integral part of that cast and the show's appeal for me.

NICS?

Or did you mean NCIS?

He meant NCIS. He played Ducky.

Great Escape caught my attention, but I had to look and see who he played. He might have actually been the escapee with the fewest lines.

How did I make that mistake twice?

He seems to be an important part of the X organization but indeed does not have a lot of lines of dialogue. The only scene where he takes the lead is where he shows the guys how to disperse the dirt.

He was "dispersal." That was his whole gig.  :lol  More importantly, he was the guy that got killed trying to protect X and Mac from the SS.

As a kid I thought Dispersal was the lamest of the X Departments, especially compared to Intelligence, Forgery, Manufacturing, Scrounging... But that was an f#&$ ton of dirt they had to get rid of.  And I thought of his death but didn't mention it so glad you called it out.

McCallum was in the Invisible Man as well.  I loved that show and was fascinated by how they filmed that.

Sir Michael Gambon (who played Dumbledore in 6 of the 8 Harry Potter movies) has passed away.

I was oblivious toward Harry Potter when the film Goblet of Fire came out. I went to it on a date with a few other people, who were serious fans. We went to the first midnight showing, actually. They were generally displeased with Gambon's portrayal of Dumbledore, this after just one movie. Maybe they warmed up to him after more movies, I don't know, there wasn't a second date. But as such, he was my first Dumbledore. And later, when I read the books, not having seen any other film yet, I thought "yep, that actor was Dumbledore."

Thanks everyone. The 1st mass was the non spreading type.  The smaller, second one we're waiting for the result but we think it will be the same outcome. Which is good.  The other breast hS no issues.

So is it is the non spreading type, (her2 negative) she can have them surgically removes and then radiation.

I'm sorry to hear this as well... the Big C does indeed suck a big C.  Lost my Dad in 2012 to a cancer so rare that it didn't even have a proper name (still doesn't).

My mom is a 25-year Breast Cancer survivor... she had a single removal and was on low does Methotrexate for several years.  As you say, as long as it's benign and caught early, she can have a full life.  My mom is now 77.  Prayers for you and your family.
