V, I asked why you sent this to me because I thought it was an extremely interesting choice. Pleasantly interesting, I must say. The style of the first half, which sounds like The Monkees, is not really my style, but it’s quirky enough and holds my attention. But then, halfway though, it goes on this long instrumental section, ultimately to close out the song. I have to say that I loved this part. I’m actually surprised it went on as long as it did. But I love long instrumental passages like this.

I'll take it. Yeah, I love that instrumental section too. Honestly, The Stone Roses have some really good guitar work and instrumental sections in general. The album Second Coming in particular is incredible.

I think the stack ranked method is the best to be as objective as possible, and then no one gets all butthurt over a 1 - it was just the worst song of the round; someone had to submit the worst song.  I actually admire those that have the conviction to rate something under 5 on a 10 point scale.  Basically, this roulette scoring scale is now 6-10 - and with 1 decimal point, that provides for 40 increments to rate with.  Which is all fine ... but at that point, one could also make it a 1-4 scale; or a 1-20 with 1/2 point increments

Plus it'll make a 3 or 4 point deficit much more feasibly easy to overcome. Basically anyone can redeem themselves in the rankings in just a round or two

I don't mind it but I don't know why Tim is using a scale of 1 to 10. Of course I'm not even playing anyway, so whatever he wants to do is fine.

I started on a few, but I'm not that far along yet, I was distracted with Tomi's, Crow's, ariich's, and my own.  Plus, I have a slightly better sense of what TAC might like, so it hasn't felt as urgent.  (I say as I might get a 6.5 for round 2....)

I thought about stacking, but the problem is that it forces you to actually have a linear ranking.  The advantage of scoring is that several entries can have the same score, and I don't actually have to pick which song from each of the micro-batches I prefer, I just have a number of tiers.

In the roulette I did use it, there were two batches of songs for each round. I stacked each batch and then averaged the two and that was the score.
