Send me some good instrumental music. A few roulettes ago, I did a Guitar Hero Round. Wolfking sent me Marco Sfogli and won the round. I didn't consider him a guitar hero, but it worked. Spare me the Vai or Satriani here. They're not banned, but I want music, not fancy shmanzy guitar noodles.

Round 4. Female vocals

Send me something with Female lead vocals. If there's a a small (extremely small) amount of male vocals mixed, then fine. But I don't want anything remotely sounding like a duet. It needs to be 90-95% Female.
Also...do NOT send me Harsh Female vocals. Hate 'em.
Also, please...no Nightwish either.

I would consider a fair amount of what Satch, Vai, and similar players do as "music".  It's sometimes even more melodic and song-structured than the typical DT song, for example, which can be closer to fretboard exercises.  And I'd put Sfogli loosely in the Satch/Vai category, it's also instrumental rock, maybe a tad proggier and more metal.  I'm probably going in a different direction anyway and might use my wild card there.

My wife says that everything she cooks has onions in it, but holy shit, If I actually see her use them...I literally can't eat it.

Yeah, I guess it can be an audio version of the "you can't unsee it" effect.  Maybe I need to lull you into them in a later round.    It took me quite awhile to acclimate to them myself other than Arch Enemy. 

If you can't tell from how it sounds, then the vocals are not the issue.

It's just a bizarre diss to me.  From the perspective of a lot of genres, way over 90% of TAC's banned list is "fancy schmancy guitar noodles".  And we're on a forum for a band legendary for indulging in that.  Both Satch and Vai have music over a wide variety of styles, some of it more technical and complex than others.  One of Satch's songs is so tuneful that in the late 00s there were endless heated debates over how closely it resembled a mainstream pop song from Coldplay, notorious guitar shredders.  I have lots of other instrumental rock guitar music that would theoretically fit the round, but the description just seems contradictory to me, so I might just pick another style altogether.

Yeah, I think I just have a prejudice, perhaps unfounded, of Guitar Hero style music. It's a "me" problem, and I'm all for having my mind changed. But I will say that I don't like Steve Vai's sound or shtick.

Don't over think it. If the piece feels like a giant guitar solo, then that's probably what TAC means by "Fancy schmancy guitar noodles". One of the reasons I like guys like Plini (not banned, maybe I'll use him for that round) is because most of the time his music doesn't feel that way. But with guys like Satch and Vai, more often than not, it does. Nothing wrong with it, but there is clear structural and compositional differences in their styles.
