Yeah, I’m not a fan of djent. It just often sounds samey. Fortunately, this has more to offer. Vocal melodies are nice enough and the song as a whole is more based on melodic than rhythmic (djenty) aspect. The breakdown at the end of the song is expected but still a cool, headbanging part. I would probably check this out, especially if the djent part is not prominent (I know I’m boring with the whole djent thing). But yeah, nothing special in my book but not remotely offensive either.

Check out "Constance" on that album, it's arguably their least djenty song, and also one of their best.

I listened to her album Some Heavy Ocean before but I guess I forgot about it and her. So this is mostly what I expected and this song is really nice. A grower for sure as there’s not too much happening at first, just her voice and guitar. I’m generally a fan of folk but I don’t listen to it nearly enough. Her voice is really flavorful, dark and sometimes rough, fits the music perfectly. I find the song a little frightful even. It is something I would like to listen to but probably would need some time between the songs, it’s dark even for me.

Some Heavy Ocean is my favorite album of her's, give "Shadows of My Name", "Savage Saint", and "Run Forever" another shot sometime.

Vmadera00: Sleep Token - The Offering

This is the song I don’t find offensive at all yet there are a few elements I feel pull it down and have to address them right away. FIrstly, djenty guitars. It just sounds like any other djent riff I ever heard. Secondly, the singer's vocal delivery is too dramatic even for me.
Other than that, it's a pretty fine song, just not so memorable. I like the overall feel of it while I’m listening to it but just forget about it later.

I always thought it'd be interesting to do a genre roulette, but only of genres I don't really listen to...have a country, blues, jazz, classical, pop, edm, etc rounds. Ban lists would be almost wide open due to my utter imfamiliarity with the music.

I did listen to Blooms of Oblivion, and thought it was quite lovely in dreary/gloomy way. I think I liked it more than Tomislav. I saved the album but didn't have to spin it in full yet, might do so on weekend.

I liked it very much. As I said, I'll try to be more strict with the scores this time. Maybe that's why some of you think 7 or 7.5 is low. In the end scores are relative.
 

Dang, expected a bit more, but I'll take it. Def check that album out, it's amazing and so sad yet warm.
