Lonestar - Ostura - Let There BeJust love this, melodies are strong throughout. It sounds really powerful but emotional and beautiful at the same time. Chorus is out of this world.
8.5/10
Evermind: Antimatter - No ContactYeah, I can’t believe how much the singer's voice sounds like Eddie Vedder. And I like Eddie’s voice so that's a good thing. There is a great build-up in the middle of the song which flows into a sax solo, I like that. The chorus is a bit repetitive but other than that, I really like the song, I should really check them out (finally).
7.5/10
LithoJazzoSphere: Autumn - AltitudeDidn’t know what to expect because I don’t think I ever heard of this band. Right from the start, I really liked the guitar stuff. Vocals are a bit buried underneath but I don’t hate it. Singer reminds me of someone, I just can’t think of whom. I love her timbre. A whole song has that bittersweet emotional vibe I love, you got it again. My only criticism is that I feel a song could be shorter.
8/10
HOF: The Blue Nile - The Downtown LightsIs this a famous song? I feel like I heard it even though I never heard of a band. Anyways, I like it very much. There are a bunch of subtle vocal frills which gives it something special. Ironically, the chorus is my least favorite part of the song, everything else is just that more interesting to me.
8/10
Ariich: The Butterfly Effect - Worlds on FireKinda reminds me of Muse but maybe a bit more aligned with my taste. I had high expectations for this, saw them around here a lot. The first few minutes are just an intro for a buildup that comes later and that buildup is what does it for me. Trumpet is a really cool addition.
8/10
Vmadera00: Periphery - ErisedSomehow I never listened to them before. As all of you already know, I rarely listen to djent. And again, if this is djent then I like djent
I just assumed they were less melodic but in the end melodies are the high point of the song. Also, I really like singers' voices.
8/10
Elite: New Cool Collective - TokisanNot a bad song at all but I can hardly get into something this quirky. It’s not that weird but it is funky and I rarely like funky. Said that, I like the last part with the solo better than the start, even find it entertaining. But sorry, not my thing.
6.5/10
Wolfking: Ne Obliviscaris - XenofluxObviously, I checked them out before but never got into them. I would really like to, though. It would be cool to like Ne Obliviscaris
There are some seriously cool moments but it seems that there are not a lot for me here, in general.
7/10
Senecadawg2: Osi and The Jupiter - HollowedI can’t decide whether I like it or find it boring
a little bit of both, I guess. There are cool elements, I like the strings. It feels more like background music for me, though. Build-up is its main element yet I don’t find it rewarding enough, I’d like something more bombastic at the end.
7/10
Buddyhunter1: Unexpect - Chromatic ChimeraGot in one of my previous roulettes and I think that other song was even weirder. I had a hard time getting into this until it kinda clicked. I’m still not totally into it but I find it cool, it sounds really interesting.
7.5/10
Jingle.boy: Ostura - DeathlessSadly, I couldn’t get into this as much as I did get into the other Ostura song. Still, as the score indicates, I liked it very much. As you already know, vocal melodies and vocals in general are very important to me and I find them really great here. Also, strings are a great addition.
8/10
Stadler: Our Lady Peace - ClumsyNot a bad son but there’s something that kinda bugs. There is a vibe about it I don’t like. I guess it sounds kinda juvenile, especially vocals. Song is pretty catchy and easy to listen to, so I don’t hate it.
6.5/10
Twosuitsluke: Astronoid - Up and AtomReceived them once before, liked it as well. My problem with it is that everything sounds buried, I guess that’s dream pop part of their sound. Other than that, this is quite enjoyable, just not something I quite love.
7/10
Sacul: Indukti - And Who's the God Now?Another band I checked out before. It’s weird, probably too weird for me but I didn’t hate it. I’d say I usually like groovy, “tribal” music but this seems more based on atmosphere than on the actual melodies. I’d like to like this more but something doesn’t click yet, sadly.
7/10
Crow: The Hirsch Effekt - AgitationI listened to their Eskapist album, quite liked it actually. Never had a desire to go back to them, though. This one is really cool, maybe even the best thing I heard from them. Softer parts were unexpected but welcome.
8/10
Puppies_on_acid: Tchornobog - Non-Existence's WarmthA long atmospheric black metal, again
The intro was promising but sadly, the main part sounds more of a droning, background music I’m not the biggest fan of. It is kinda beautiful in a heavy way, though, so I did not hate it.
7/10
ReaperKK: Akord - EtherealityIt took me some time to get into it. It is progressive without getting overly technical, just as I like it. Guitar tone is to my taste, as well. When it comes to the singer, I’m still not 100% sure if I like his voice. Delivery is just fine, though. I can see this growing on me even further but for now it just doesn’t click completely.
