Although I like America I think the perfect end for this record is Heart Of The Sunrise as it was on vinyl. When I upgraded to compact disc I had a hard time getting used to another tacked on bonus track.
This is why I've made CD-r's and playlists with an altered tracklist for a long time now that moved "America" to close "side one" of the album:
Roundabout
Five Per Cent For Nothing
Long Distance Runaround
The Fish (Schindleria Praematurus)
America*
We Have Heaven
Southside Of The Sky
Cans And Brahms
Mood For A Day
Heart Of The Sunrise
It keeps the rhythm-section-showcase together on side one, which closes with the epic-length "America", and side two opens with "We Have Heaven", which bookends nicely with the hidden reprise after "Heart Of The Sunrise", with the melodic-section showcase in the middle with CAB and MFAD. It's been my preferred listening order for as long as I can remember and it has a nice flow to it too.
