Can't wait for this. As with Zep, I'm not overly familiar with the bottom half of PT's catalogue so this took some listening to put a list of 60 together and then I had to continually remind myself what song it was when using the ranker to put the 50 together. These top 50s are such a good way to continue exploration of an artist once conversation starts, too.

I’m actually excited to see how this top 50 turns out. I expect some usual suspects in the upper ranges, but below the top 10-15 I guess everything is possible. Fingers crossed my #1 will even make the list

Man, although I did cull the initial list heavily before putting it through the ranker, I'm looking at my list and I'm sad for basically the entire 50-80 range.

I’m a little surprised how hard a time you’re having getting submissions for this one, but I’m guessing a bigger issue than prog v. Hard rock/metal is just the specific tastes of the regulars who seem to contribute to most of the lists so far. There are just a number of us who either don’t like PT at all (TAC, Stads) or who only like them to a point (me). PT are also a band that I imagine a lot of hard core fans still never got into the early more experimental albums.

We ended up with 22, so better than it was looking.  I will start it tomorrow and likely end it on Friday 02/03, so with 50 songs over 19 days, that will two songs some day and three songs other days.

Really looking forward to this and 22 is a good number of participants and my first surprise in this countdown - I didn't think we would get that many! Well done everyone who has contributed. I really have no idea how this one will turn out.

It is fun, actually.  And with the last year for me being pretty rough and stressful in general, these countdowns have been a nice "distraction" in my down time. And people seem to enjoy them, so it's win-win.
