The Slight Lie is interesting. It's as if King Diamond wrote an album for Vanden Plas. There's some modern metal-corish vocals sprinkled throughout but they're not really all that harsh. Lots of energy!

The Hands Of Goro...yeah. I almost tapped out after the second song, but it really started to grow on me. The singer is kind of Mike Muir-ish and has a Motorhead feel to it.

That is an interesting combination. I'll add it to the list

Anyone check out The Tower last year. It's a post/drone-metal album featuring some sweet sax. It's a bit of a claustrophobic listen at times but really good.
Haven't heard of it but sounds cool.

I’m waiting on this out of fear. I’m hearing horrible things about his voice being shot. Thoughts so far?

I really enjoy the album, can't say I've noticed his voice being shot at all. Plenty of standout tracks.

I have them in my Spotify library. I've heard them but really just casually. Not really familiar with them.

Man, that Defiatory album is a ripper! From Sweden, this came out in 2022, and it's Bay Area-influenced thrash (think Testament/Forbidden), with some great riffage and lead guitar work (almost power-oriented at times - quasi title-track and opener Apocalypse is a case in point, where the thrash turns into a super-cool melodic ending with neoclassical solos). Some more classic metal influences too (Knives) as well as melodic death metal (Let Them Burn). Really enjoyed this one (I had it saved from back then, and kinda forgot to check it out until, well, today)

That Slight Lie certainly sounds intriguing. I'll have to check it out. I have to re-listen to Hands of Goro for that Mike Muir reference. I'm generally with you on the way I feel about it...it's grabbing me more as it goes along. Last tune is very good. Overall, nothing to go too crazy about, but enjoyable enough.
