Three new releases today:



I've definitely enjoyed all three. For my taste, and as I expected, the new Counting Hours hit the spot. I was maybe hoping for more obvious "goosebump" moments, but this is REALLY good on first listen. Can't wait to dig in some more. The Traveler seems better than their previous. Lots of energy and great attitude (the song Rebels of Earth stood out right away). The new Borknagar sounds pretty great too - not quite as immediate as True North, maybe. The ending of the opener (Summit), though! Glorious!

Autumnblaze - auf zerfetzten schwingen

I gave this one a shot, as I have one of their albums from the early 00s, Mute Boy Sad Girl, where they had an almost pop-rock feel to their melancholic sound. Didn't expect much, but I'm glad I gave this one a listen! Definitely heavier, with harsh vocals too (and all sung in German), but quite good indeed. Lots of appropriately dreary melodies and atmospheres.

Yea, I had a rare weekend morning where my son was with his grandparents and my wife was out for brunch with friends, so I could cook breakfast, and listen to these.
