Pardon the interruption, but I just had to run in and celebrate the majesty of Lube in the Face as highest moment in roulette history

Same dude. I've listened through both versions twice today and I am fully on board. It's not his best songwriting ever but I'm a sucker for any mixture of metal and orchestral. Pilgrimage to Oblivion and At the Heart of All Things Broken are early favourites, and I'm enjoying all the interludes.

Speaking of Watershed, that's what I'm listening to now.

Caligula's Horse - Charcoal grace

So has it finally clicked?

I've seen the name Caligula's Horse thrown around a lot, is that a good album to start with if I wanted to check them out?

Not sure. I’d definitely recommend listening to it but I’m not sure if it’s their best album to start with as I’m not that familiar with their other albums yet. It’s quite dense with a lot of unpredictable chord progressions so might require a few listens but I think it’s absolutely fantastic.

It's getting there, it feels like a slow grower.

"Bloom" had two songs from my first roulette and I still adore those songs, and having heard a bit of the rest of that album, it seems solid.

So far so cool, a Prog Rock Opera with some Blues Rock vibes, like Zeppelin.

Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

K'mono - Return To The "E"

Thank you to SoundscapeMN for mentioning this band the other day, i am really digging both this one and the new one! Yes/Moon Safari vibes are always good. These guys are just a trio though so it's a bit more down to earth than those other two. really enjoying it, though; love the way the bass player totally does the Squire thing where the bass sounds like a lead guitar riffing

Spectral Voice - Sparagmos

A pretty intense combination of death and doom by a band with 3 members of Blood Incantation.
Right up my alley.

Didn't have a ton of listening time over the last few days, but I got to check out these two releases from last Friday:

Positive impressions from both, but also more listening required to properly digest...

Same dude. I've listened through both versions twice today and I am fully on board. It's not his best songwriting ever but I'm a sucker for any mixture of metal and orchestral. Pilgrimage to Oblivion and At the Heart of All Things Broken are early favourites, and I'm enjoying all the interludes.

Similar feelings for me. On a first pass, sounds like the songs themselves might not reach the highs of his best, but there's a lot of cool stuff in here.
