They're a prog metal band, I found them a couple years. They have some monster chops, here are a few of my favorites:

The I That Never Dies
Grimothy (their newest single)
I Revere

If you check them out let me know what you think.

abriction - Banshee

This was a surprise drop last Friday. Atmospheric, kinda lo-fi, clean and screamed female vocals. Jumps between blackgaze and moody but melodic electronic songs. Gotta love zoomers and their complete disregard for genre boundaries on albums. :lol It's pretty damn long but surprisingly consistent for its runtime.
Sounds intriguing at least, will prob check it out once the roulette is over.

Well I really liked it. If that’s what an "industry plant" sounds like then there should be more industry plants.

I've always loved Velvet Waltz a lot here, but didn't really care for the rest of the album for so long. Felt like revisiting it and I think some of these could be growers. Very lovely late 90s Indie Rock with hints of Midwest Emo, Post-Rock, and Psychedelic Rock.

it was a rhetorical question. the answer was given with the two facts prior to me saying it :) clearly someone in the band has a connection in the business which is why they were tapped to open for the Rolling Stones before they even had an album. that doesn't just happen

Are some of the tracks close enough to what you liked about the newer one?  Personally I find it somewhere halfway between that one and Abyss, with a few newer elements as well.

Yeah, I think so.  I don't like it as much as the new one, but it's quality stuff.

Warming up for TesseracT this sunday:
TesseracT - War of Being

Also:
Draconian - Under a Godless Veil
Rorcal - Silence
Bipolar Architecture - Metaphysicize

Last one is a new release with some really cool elements. Post, death, black and shoegaze influences. Guitars really stand out with some interesting drumming as well. Vocal aren't really my style but might click after a few listens.

Frontrunner for death metal album of the year...

French death metallers Exocrine - Legend.

Only one listen in, but I'm gonna hit this again with my headphones later. Really good Progressive Death Metal with plenty of melodic  parts without ever becoming full on melodeath.

I should check it out...

Speaking of technical death metal, I've been getting some enjoyment out of this one:

Cognizance - Phantazein

From the UK, nothing particularly new under the sun, but it's got some tasty riffing and it sounds pretty great.

Luke, do you know these London boys?  I've heard about them for years and never got around to checking them out.  The vocals aren't exactly my thing, but damn the music is such a blast I don't mind terribly much.  Seems like a possible intersection of some of our interests, an exact middle ground between a variant of my root/influence section of the day and a few other things and some of the stuff on your EP in my final round, makes me wanna listen to it again.
