I bust it out every now and then. They opened for Iron Maiden on that tour.
I remember being disappointed with the album when it came out, but I enjoy it a lot more now.

Continuing my revisit of KJ since Geordie's passing. I think I am finally ready to call this my favorite of theirs. Huge props to Dave Grohl for channeling Big Paul on this record. Fantastic drumming from Dave.

beul ni teh efac = Lube In The Face / That has to be wrong.  :lol / EDIT: Oh, it's Blue! I'm an idiot.
Pardon the interruption, but I just had to run in and celebrate the majesty of Lube in the Face as highest moment in roulette history

Random question thought I’d ask here. Anyone knows why certain songs are being used by a bunch of bands like if it was their creation without ever referring to the og song whereas most of the songs when they are being used they will state in the song that it’s a cover. Is it due to a bad legal protection of the song made by the artist in the first place?

For instance, this year I heard the song Army of me by three different bands (The anix, In this moment, Klone). On Spotify, there is no mention whatsoever that the song is a cover.

After checking on Spotify I think I just answered my own question. It’s mostly about Spotify once again not being to strong on artist’s rights and just not mentioning anywhere that the song is a cover.

I'm not sure what you're looking for.  For it to say "(Bjork cover)" in the song title?  That might be considered clunky.  If you go to the song credits she's listed as the writer.  I checked Youtube and Tidal and they do it the same way.

I wouldn’t consider it clunky (putting it in the title). Normally, I remember seeing it that way in the past.

I don't know if I'd say it's the normal way to do it.  It's certainly been done that way at times, but I have tons of CDs, plenty from long before the age of Spotify, and from my recollection and checking a number of them, it's more common just to make note of it in the credits than in the track list itself.  Would have to have a far larger sample size to say more definitively, but I don't think it inherently hasn't anything to do with anything unique to Spotify.

Bryan Adams - Into The Fire - Live at the Royal Albert Hall

Different album.  He released two live album performances.  This one was not as good as the first one I listened to (Waking Up The Neighbors).  Probably just a Spotify thing.

I always enjoy Evergrey's MMA...I mean, yes, it's not among their best, but it's a interesting one-off in their catalog, and it's catchy as hell. It's for sure more bare-bones than usual for them, but it is unmistakably Evergrey (plus it sounds GREAT...I like how the guitars are crunchy but well-defined, as opposed to their more recent productions, where they sound kinda muddy)

Plus some 2023 stuff over the weekend

Just discovered that Aortha album...I guess it came out in September. Kinda fun - pretty aggressive, somewhat thrashy power metal with a bunch of vocalists (including Christian Alvestam, ex Scar Symmetry and Kyle Thomas from Exhorder). All clean vocals. Not sure if it was talked about here. Anyway, nothing groundbreaking, but nice riffage.

The new Health (RAT WARS) is a ton of fun. I know they have become more and more popular in the scene in the recent years, but I had only given cursory listens to their stuff. This one is almost an industrial metal album, and it's really catchy.

Yeah this might be their best album yet. It’s still not amazing, their songwriting still feels a bit undercooked at times, but there’s a lot more highlights here than I was expecting and the production is awesome as always. I agree there’s more metal elements this time around, and I’d extend that to darksynth as well. I think a handful of the collaborators from the DISCO4 albums rubbed off on them a bit.

This is my Dad's copy of Tales from Topographic Oceans. It would've been his 71st birthday today, so he received this as a present 50 years ago today! Kinda mind blowing.

Spinning this over dinner.
