So unique and interesting.  It held my attention for the entire 80 minutes.  Didn't feel long at all with many different wonderful sections.  One man band too from Australia!  :metal

What's this like?

It's pretty good, actually. The singer sounds a bit like Bernie Shaw. Classic hard rock, really.

This was on my list last Friday and I didn't get to it yet. It's one of the (many) projects from Chris Black (I believe he literally does everything here). He is also the drummer in Pharaoh and the main guy behind the band Dawnbringer (very cool stuff from them). He does all sorts of different things and yes, this is his "classic rock" band. I've heard a couple of their previous records and really enjoyed them.

I haven't checked out this one yet, but I think I listened to their more recent album, Bellum I. I remember it was quite a journey. I'll have to queue this one up too  :)

Meh, I'm a casual fan of these guys and Simone is a beast but it's just hard to see a point to this generic prog metal style anymore, for me anyway.  I mean, there's simply nothing new or exciting here.  What's the point?  Especially after coming off something so extraordinary, big and unique like the Aquilus, it just seems so superficial and bland.

That's like saying "what's the point of even eating pizza ever again"!!!  Sure, we've ostensibly heard a variation of this album dozens of times before.  But it's still pretty damned fine.  I'm on the fence about buying it, just because (again) there's nothing terribly 'new' about it.

I'm spinning that Aquilus album.  Musically, it's starting nice.  I have a feeling the vocals will be a disapp.... yup, there they are.
That's a word salad - and take it from me, I know word salad

I spun this for the first time a few weeks ago. Someone posted a collage of their favourite albums on the progmetal sub reddit, and this was literally the only album I didn't know on the person's list so I thought "it's gotta be good".

I left it on my daily rotation playlist to circle back to, so I guess today is a good a day as any. It was pretty good from what I remember.

The main thing I care about with those bands is the guitar timbre.  :)

I've always liked this band, but haven't been able to listen enough to put them into my upper tiers of favorites lists.  A couple runthroughs of their discography last month and now I'm feeling like I should have put them on my honorable mentions list for the top 50 thread.  Oh well, with them being ascendant, maybe they'll be there next year.
