I've heard the album a few times before but I definitely enjoyed it more yesterday. I think I was paying attention more than I had done with previous listens. Supper's Ready in particular caught my attention. I know it's regarded as a great prog epic but yea, I definitely dug it. I left the album on my regular rotation playlist, so will circle back to it this week or next.

As for Das Seelenbrechen, it's not the strongest Ihsahn, but it does have some really standout songs. Definitely worth checking out.

Kudos for Worm above as well. Have you checked out the split with Dream Unending yet?

Morne - Engraved With Pain
Post/sludgemetal with some doomy leads. First listen followed by two more. I like it a lot. Some Cult of Luna influences mainly in the vocals and tribal drumming.

Picked this one from a review that mentioned them similar to bands like Clouds and Shape of Despair.
Will check their earlier releases. Perfect time of year for some (funeral) doom.

Yea, I'm probably once every few months as well. But if something catches me eye, I gotta hear it.

Since we recently discussed covers that are not easily identifiable...first row is Blood Incantation (left) and Kauan - Ice Fleet (right)

Oh, and I have to say the Helloween s/t is not losing an ounce of its charm...if anything, it's getting better with time for me. I don't disagree that, overall, it's not a huge stylistic departure from other Deris-era album, but the songwriting is very, very inspired. To me, it's way better than, say, 7 Sinners, Straight Out of Hell and My God-Given Right (which I all generally enjoy, btw), to mention some recent ones. Even the "lesser" track are much more enjoyable than the typical Helloween throwaway songs.
