The new Earthside album is freaking amazing! After just two spins, it's already one of my top picks this year. And can we talk about the drummer? He's on another level, totally giving me Gavin Harrison vibes.

I agree.  I only got one listen in so far, but for me it's definitely a contender for album of the year.
Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

I'm revisiting this album after many years, and damn, what a beast of a record. Now this is some fierce, epic 70s prog straight from Argentina.

You're going to have to share a playlist of all this Argentinian prog you're vibing with. It seems a lot to get into.

Well I do try and listen to music outside of the obvious western countries, so I'd be up for diving in.

That reminds me, I've been working my way through this list of albums (one from every country in the world) and need to continue on with it.

Oh, that's cool!

Incidentally, the pick from Italy is a good one. You might actually have heard of Zucchero? He was one of the few Italian artists with some degree of international success at the end of the 80s/beginning of the 90s, at least in Europe. He always surrounded himself with impressive guest musicians too.  That one record has, among others, Eric Clapton one one song, Clarence Clemons on another...I mean, he liked to "borrow" some vibes from Joe Cocker and the like, but the music is rather entertaining.

No, I've not gotten to.Italy yet, and I've never heard of Zucchero. Looks like I got as far as France, but I'll add some more albums into my daily rotation playlist.

Sacul, the Argentinian artist is Charley Garcia. Is this an album you're familiar with?

Yeah, I've even played a few songs from it on the deepcut sessions :lol. Great record. And that site looks so cool, I think I'll dive into that once I'm done with my current interests.

I do pay attention to what you play, honest :lol

Yea it's a cool site, and although most of the music isn't fully my thing, I've discovered a few good albums.

A friend recommended this album to me, and it's pretty cool. More 70s prog here, pretty chill with some beautiful arrangements. I'll revisit.

Are the lyrics related to Cortázar?

Sounds interesting! I am familiar with Santaolalla only from his (relatively) more recent work on soundtracks. I think the first time I’d heard something of his was on The Insider soundtrack.

I gave it a listen Friday but was distracted with work so nothing really stuck out. I'll give it a second spin tonight or tomorrow. It'll have to be pretty damn special to beat the debut.
