A Lukeamendation....

I think the song he played on the DJ Thingy the other night was the best song. Kind of masked the fact that this has a big stoner vibe. There's some cool moments though. The first two and the last two tracks are pretty cool.

Yep, this is good. I'd recommend their previous album too, Black Harvest. A mix of Sabbath and...Boston? Cool stuff.

Yep, I'd echo this, Black Harvest is also great. Not as good as the latest though. The Heathen Land may end up cracking my top 10 of the year, it's that fucking good!

The Serpentine and Allen/Olzen are the obvious odd ones out but I did feel like breaking it up.  The Serpentine album is pretty cheesy but has some nice melodic tunes.  First listen to the Stortregn too, fucking nice, as expected. Oh shit, I forgot one I also listened to this morning;

You know what...........I have no expectations for this anymore when going into it, but I'm warming to it.  It was a pleasant listen.  Still lost focus in some places but ATC, TT and the title track especially are pretty good.  I don't really know what the chatter was with the title track when it came out as I dismissed it but I love the climax of it.  Quite original.

I love this album. It's heavy, dense, technical. There's really no let up on it. There's a lot to digest, but the payoff is worth it.

Your high opinion of it has always made me try and go back to it from time to time.  Definitely not a DT highlight but I can start to see why people do enjoy it.

Awesome batch. :metal :metal

Fucking preach! I don't know all of these, but those I do are :metal

Starting off today's new releases with the new Mariusz Duda album...

I've never really connected with his solo work, but this is off to a really good start. I've been watching a lot of X-Files recently and this synthy vibe really gives sci-fi energy. Good stuff.

Edit: Next up are these two...

It's weird to hear what feels like the closest I've heard to a classic Children of Bodom release, in like 15 years or something. Digging it, it really keeps Alexi's legacy living on.

It's the first Warmen I've actually listened to, but so far I think it sounds way better than the last few Bodom albums. Those albums really fell flat for me.

I haven't compared it to Bodom truthfully.  It just had nothing memorable for me at all.  So disappointed.

Every other Warmen album is different to this one.  They purposely went the way to sound like Bodom, no doubt but I just mean I've judged it on its own merit and it kinda sucks IMO.

Yea, I'll have to go back and check out some of their other albums. Best album to start with?

The new Earthside album is freaking amazing! After just two spins, it's already one of my top picks this year. And can we talk about the drummer? He's on another level, totally giving me Gavin Harrison vibes.
