It's amusing to look at larger resolution covers of albums I've been accustomed to seeing as mostly thumbnails recently.

Indeed! Such a great album.

On my last couple days' commutes...a bit of a bag of randomness:

I've always maintained Puzzle and Only Revolutions are my favorite Biffy Clyro records, with the former having a tiny edge...but some days I think Opposites might be even superior. Just an incredibly tasty set of punchy, unique and creative tunes. Minus the Bear's Menos el Oso is an album I listened to a fair bit when it came out...hadn't revisited it in a while. Still very enjoyable, quite "chill" (maybe too chill?)...not sure I'm into it as much these days, but nice listen nonetheless (and Drilling is a great tune!).

Another one I hadn't heard in a while is the Psycho Motel album. Gotta say, I didn't remember much of it. In part it's because...um...it's not very memorable?  There isn't much to distinguish it from other 90s album with that grunge-y sound. Maybe it's the vocals, I don't know. But Adrian doesn't put much of his stamp on it. Performances are very good, and it's well produced, but...it's kinda there. I feel Bruce got way more flak for Skunkworks going in a direction that was outside his norm...many were screaming "grunge album!!", but I never thought of it that way. I guess he just was/is a "higher profile" character, so people were watching his moves more closely and generating stronger opinions/reactions?

Heard 5/8, all solid, don't know the December Noire, Biffy Clyro, and Psycho Motel ones.

December Noir is very solid death/doom...it's depressive/sad, but quite heavy. The opener is not the best, but maybe check out the second song Hope/Renaissance...or the vaguely Katatonia-influenced Streets of Transcience.

Biffy Clyro is absolutely brilliant. You should give this album a try  :)

A few recent jams, I feel I should start sending some of these to roulettes soon ;D

Hmmnnnn yeah Jardín de los Presentes is fantastic, wow. Such a subtle and delicate record, with lots of emotion and wonderful textures despite having a super simple production.

Durazno Sangrando is more of a typical 70s prog album also by Invisible, which is fine, but not something I'm quite interested into right now. Might revisit it at some point tho.

The self-titled La máquina de Hacer Pájaros is also a revisit after many many years, and it surprised me a bit. A tad too "proggy" here and there, but overall a very nice album.

Películas, on the other hand, is less "proggy" and more focused on wonderful melodies and layered harmonies. It has some absolutely gorgeous tracks, damn.

(including the audiodrama that tells its story by itself, the album is a concept album after all. Yes, I like it quite a bit)

Seems to be a lot of King Diamond getting posted at the moment (I’m obviously all for it), I assume it’s because we’re coming into spooky season.

I'm going to do a spooky playlist thread towards the end of this month.  I probably need to revisit a couple of his albums, I remember there being some stuff on them that would work for it.
