Charly García - Clics Modernos

Although I'm not a huge fan of New Wave in general, this album is pretty good. In particular Los Dinosaurios, such a powerful and beautiful song, with very strong and brave lyrics considering the incredibly dark and disturbing time period in which it was released.

Devin Townsend - Empath

Can’t stop spinning this. I loved it when they first released it on Pillar, I love it now it’s on streaming services. This is the definitive version of Act I for me now. Casey sounds great and think the whole band just did a great job. I’m not sure how much post production work went into this, and how ‘live’ it is (anyone know?), but everyone needs to hear it, Dear Hunter fan or not.

What with the reissue of Migrant coming out soon as well I can feel a Dear Hunter kick coming on.

Second listen in and I’m liking this album a lot. If you enjoy beautiful metal music, I recommend this one. I would qualify them as shoegaze although they don’t use this tag.

Blind_Faith, have you listened to Air by Astronoid? I posted it the other week, they are very similar in sound to this. They have that blackgaze sound with more ethereal vocals. This album is really cool so far and definitely scratches the Astronoid itch. I’ve not been too big a fan of their last two albums, and to be honest, this already sounds better. Cheers.

Listened to them this week end, they do have a nice vibe. I like this style. The vocals are pretty good too.
