For some reason I never checked out George Clanton's debut album, and tbh I'm not missing out on much. Slide is just way better in every sense, and I'm quite hyped for the new album, which drops next week.
Is this a selfie of you listening to the album or is that the actual album cover? :lol
lmao that's the album cover, and I don't look even remotely like him, but more like this

Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.  ;D
TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

Today...

Just a comment on Heaven's Cry...I love, LOVE this album. Such a little gem of 90s prog metal. This came out in 1997 and it's such a cool take on the genre. They are from Canada, and they bring just the right amount of weirdness to the table. Very prominent bass - one part Voivod, one part Geddy Lee? (Speaking of Voivod- interestingly, the vocalist/guitar player here played bass as a guest on Voivod's Outer Limits album). Very interesting riffs and textures from the guitars, certainly not afraid to hit hard (Cruel Disguise!), but also able to create moods that sound almost...serene. Cool vocals too (Face sounds vaguely King's X-esque towards the end).

The production is not perfect, but ain't too bad either. I know this has been reissued more recently, but I haven't heard the (Remastered? Remixed?) version...all I know is the CD I have from 1997.

Any fans of the band among the good people here?

Two killer albums.  Ruins might be even better than the last two TesseracT albums, and Sons of Northern Darkness was my first black metal album and still one of my favorites.

Rannoch has a new release titled Conflagrations.  I am listening now and sounds like a great follow up to the previous release Reflections Upon Darkness

Sons is a riff monster from start to finish.  Sounds amazing too.

I haven't listened to this since 2020. It's so bound up with my emotions of that time that I've been reluctant to revisit it. But this is the right album at the right time for me right now, just as it was then. Retroactively my AOTY for that year.

Unfortunately the album isn't out yet but I snagged one of the 300 7 inch vinyl singles of MAER's Sister.
Such a beautiful single and great content

Well it's Marjana Semkina and Anna Murphy who are behind it so it figures...

Can't get enough of these two songs at the moment

The other day I was thinking of how fucking great the 2010s were for music, so I went through Rateyourmusic's charts for that decade, and listened to a bunch of records I had missed out on. So far I got...

death's dynamic shroud.wmv I'll Try Living Like This
I don't get this at all, thought it was going to be an interesting album, but it really does feel like a random collection of cool sounds. Guess that's just vaporwave in a nutshell :P

D'Angelo and The Vanguard Black Messiah
Quite disappointed with this, maybe it's just not my style but I found it quite flat and repetitive.

The Brave Little Abacus Just Got Back From the Discomfort—We're Alright
Midwest Emo is very hit or miss for me, and this is more of the latter tbh. Perhaps it could grow on me with time, but I don't know if I even like their sound lol

Ok, now onto the good stuff...

Oneohtrix Point Never Garden of Delete
Ok this is quite a surprise - very weird, experimental Electronic / Ambient music, that sometimes might be a bit too much for me, but also has some amazing moments. Quite the mixed bag to me, but I'll certainly revisit it. What surprises me the most is how freaking popular this guy is despite how inaccessible his work is.

Oneohtrix Point Never Replica
I don't remember much from this one, other than it was interesting lol. I'll revisit it as well.

Jamie xx In Colour
I've known about this album's existence for almost 8 years now, yet I'm only listening to it right now. Damn, wished I had done it sooner - not sure I'd have appreciated back in the day, but somewhere in between, when I was really getting into electronic music. Very fun yet elegant dance music, some tracks are instrumental, others have vocals, and it's all produced marvelously. Digging it a lot (except for the song with Young Thug, I hate those vocals lol).

This one's a grower. It's weird as fuck but it has such a surreal dystopian atmosphere to it, and it's actually got some solid tunes on it once you get used to all the weird noises. You were totally going to get Loving Is Easy from me in your next roulette. :lol

Yeah if you wanted to get minus one trillion points :neverusethis:

I have realized that most of my music collection is from many parts of the world but Latin America, so I'm gonna be catching up with some cool releases from now on. This one is, at least on the first half, banger after banger. Amazing Synthpop tunes, very catchy and elaborate, love it.

Ok so these are some of the things I've jammed in the last 24 hours, plus a few I listened to the other day. Part 1:

Left at London t.i.a.p.f.y.h.
Forgot I had listened to it shortly after my last roulette ended, and gave it another try. Pills & Good Advice is an amazing song, but the rest of the album is quite not my thing tbh. Still curious about their new album which should drop this year.

Ghost Meliora
For some reason I had never listened to an album of these guys, and I can't really see the fuzz about them - it's just generic Hard Rock / Heavy Metal with Scooby Doo chase music / spooky vibes mixed in :P

Metá Metá MetaL MetaL
Quite intriguing Avant-Garde music from Brazil, with mixes of Art Rock and Jazz and some traditional music. Quite overwhelming tbh, but I'll revisit.

Los Fabulosos Cadillacs Fabulosos Calavera
Legendary Argentinian band, famed for doing very eclectic and varied albums that mixed a lot of genres, try their hard at making a Mexican themed album... and the result is quite not my thing I'll be honest, but I appreciate the creativity and wild mix of styles here.

yeule Serotonin II
Hmnnnn kinda interesting Ambient Pop, but kinda boring tbh.

Ecco2k E
Don't even remember how it sounded tbh, I just recall every song sounding like each other, and they were all mid.
